I would say a hard taunt is CC but drawing aggro is part of a tank's stock kit.... but that's just pedantry I think.

Typically. This is because in some games if the tank has no way to force the enemy to focus on it, then it doesn't do its role it is just a character with lots of HP.

Tanks, tank damage.

Though if a game has another way for a Tank to draw attacks or to deny an area just by being in it even without special abilities that enforce it... It can still be a Tank.

Overwatch can be an example of Tanks that have no ability to force or draw agro (One by being a moving piece of cover, another by punishing attacks that don't kill her)

Yeah I'd say that's an issue with pvp vs pve tanking. AI can be aggroed, and in some games go for the closest character or even sometimes the one with the highest armor. (And sometimes decidedly not, looking at you battle brothers)

But against humans (and/or some primates) you either need a hard taunt or be such a buffshrine that it's still tactically relevant to try and kill you.
Or I guess be very, very scary in certain situations (I.e within roadhouse range)

I mean, I'd normally think the entire 'tank' class in pvp is a failure, except companies like riot and blizzard have been wracking their brains in order to bring some sort of balance to it, so who knows.

There's a show called Alaska State Troopers. It's fucking insane, and I'm not even talking about the regular repeats of lone troopers making bi-monthly visits to communities with little or no police presence and encountering violent addicts. Seen more standoffs between cops and armed assholes on maybe one season of that than in all the other non-fictional television I've ever watched.

That sounds awesome, I'll have to find a way of watching at least a bit of it.

I guess the stuff I saw in Drugs Inc. was just the... tip of the iceberg.

Tbh I didnt like that series at all 

Its a hit-or-miss thing I think. I've seen several forumnites swear by it, but to me it always felt disjointed

The damn dog managed to knock over (or grab, the sequence of events is not entirely clear) a bottle of motor oil that somebody carelessly left on the side of the deck and made a huge mess. As far as I can tell, he didn't ingest any, or at least not enough to have any harmful effect (which is good, he's going away within the next few days, but I wish him well), but the really odd thing is that he doesn't seem to have gotten any on him.
