Molesting the jeans sounds like a terrible idea. Isn't that what happens at the start of Plague Inc? :P

That reminds me, I need to sand the mould off them one of these days.

That would seriously freak me the fuck out too.  What, do yous have nothing to hide?  Or just no concept of personal space?  :P

How is it 2 AM already?!
I swear it was half two just twenty minutes ago... goddamn long songs and distracting videogames.
Oh well, I had a long nap during the afternoon/evening so my sleep schedule is messed up anyway. I'm gonna go get some more sleep.

On that topic, my stuffed toy seems to relocate itself regularly, even though I almost never touch it. Either it's haunted or I need to stop putting it in the way of things I need.

If you have a bow tie in your room, Cinder, I recommend burning it. It may be sentient.

Can you believe these people wanting to defrock and remove this United Church Minister just because she's an atheist and denounced the bible!    :P

Apparently the church-goers are totally cool with it.

Ok... all power to being atheist and all that.

But uhhh... shouldn't the minister of a church be religious in some capacity? Or at least... not be against what they are supposed to be preaching.

How hard is it to defrock someone?

Another step forward towards "religion as cultural roleplaying". Which is something I'm not sure if I want because it reduces the authority of religion, or fear because it could lead to people openly acknowledging that traditional and abusive things that come with the religion are all false, but will be enforced anyway because it makes them feel better.

I guess pretty hard?  I'd think she'd have an easier time if she was just agnostic.  Then she could be all like "Okay guys, so I don't know if any of this is true or not, but this is what it says in this book the church sent me."

Edit:  I mean, its a WTF on several levels.

1)  You'd think it would be pretty easy to be removed as a minister in this case.

2)  You'd think if your faith was shaken to the point of going atheist you'd step down from your position as minister of a church.

3)  You'd think the church-goers wouldn't be okay about the minister of their faith's church not believing in your religions beliefs.

Then again I've met people who enjoy going to church for the singing and the community who aren't particularly religious themselves, so maybe that is why #3 is happening?

Your explanation for #3 is the explanation for all of it. A lot of people in protestant denominations are there for the community and pattern of normalcy, the God bits are just there because they were raised in it and don't really have any reason to ignore it. Many churches are functionally community centers/town water coolers that only retain a veneer of religion because of traditional inertia.
