I've seen them, they're just basically tinned food that comes in a fancy tin but I'm still really fascinated by the idea of food that heats itself up in the packaging.

I think I've read that some MRE's cook themselves when you open them. Maybe some could be bought at a military surplus or something?

I've had a military MRE before. It came with a heating packet and a small amount of water to pour into it to get it cooking.

It actually wasn't that bad except for the biscuit, which was a thin, flat card of "it tastes like shit". If I recall, it had the main meal(beef brisket in my case), biscuit, some M&M's, and a packet of energy drink mix, plus utensils, salt, pepper, and sugar. I think there was an instant coffee mix in there as well.

The people next door to me use their big obnoxious speakers to play shit-tier rap a lot. Right now though, they're using them to blast classical music. As I write this Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 2 draws to a close, and they've moved on to this. I'm not sure how I feel about this.
