Ugh, hate the fucking Autoupdate system. I have a very limited Internet Allowance atm, 25gb a month (UGH!!!) and its like 10$ for each extra GB that you use after that. During a late night gaming time on some offline games, I went to bed and then woke up to 5 emails in a row of, "Hey you used more net, chaching!"....

Care to explain how to do so my friend?
As far as I could see the only option is to set a small window when it could autoupdate and just not be online at that time.
Been checking over the internet and there is no option to OUTRIGHT stop the autoupdates...

Right-click the game you want to not update -> Properties -> Updates -> under Automatic Updates, choose the option "Only update this game when I launch it".

I can't find a global setting for this sort of thing (which is admittedly odd), but that should help.

Don't see a generic no updates option but you can limit auto-updates to certain times it seems.

Nope. You can limit the time window and bandwidth but that appears to be it. Bit more control in the individual game settings but still no "don't". Could at least disable it from downloading while you play, too.

I guess you could do something third party to throttle steam's bandwidth allocation down to zero when you're not using it? Or just block the connection or somethin'.
