Giving people reasons to visit museums and cultural landmarks is BAD! People should only go there when they are forced to by schools!

The Holocaust Museum is CLEARLY doing the right thing.

(On a more serious note... HEAVEN FORBID a game actually increase the general culture experience of the population...)

Also the "getting outside" experience, which is unarguably positive even when not done for it's own sake, perhaps unlike culture.

While I personally am not that interested in pokemon, it's cheering that Augmented reality has proven so much more readily appealing and accessible than modern virtual reality has.

I'm missing something from your reactions to that story.

The story said the factories produced products FOR Venezuela. It may have been an American company, but unless there's something else going on outside of the scope of the article it sounds like it's not so much "Offshoring" as "opening up in new markets" They may have made a poor choice in Venezuela, but at the same time, developing countries are known for holes in their supply chains that are opportunities for new business to start up.

They suspended production because of a lack of materials and a lack of a customer base available to buy. That's a valid reason to shut down production. At the same time I don't think anyone planned for the state to seize the factory, but if that happens, I would expect the company to want to take advantage of any rules or loopholes they can to mitigate the damage from that loss.

I'm just not seeing the WTF.

Eh... the museum has the right to ask people to not play pokemon inside and it's not just because of "Lol koffing, hur hur gassing the jews."
The pokemon placement is random unless the devs are awesome asshole enough to make Koffing and Hypno only spawn in synagogues and the holocaust museum.

The real problem is that museums are not really places you want people playing games in and the pokecenter there draws in people who just don't give 2 shits about the place or the history it's supposed to teach.
I beat it's a bit disheartening when you try telling a bunch of tourists about the way millions of people died a bit over half a century ago while half of the people around you plays fucking Pokemon because the middle of your museum is a hub area for an altered reality pokemon game.

Depending on how many people go there just because of the pokecenter the staff and management (especially the more invested among them) have a right to be pretty miffed about the whole ordeal.

Forced to work an extra half-hour. If it wasn't for the fact that my mother usually takes that long in picking me up, that would have been a very caustic situation. As it was, I barely got out of the place before my mother drove up. I will certainly be going over my next couple of pay stubs to see if they're not modifying the punch times to short me on overtime.
