Been browsing the games on sale at humble bundle and saw Front Mission Evolved.
Now i don't care about the game but i read the description and saw this.

"Featuring Hollywood style production values and a totally immersive storyline"

Then i realized i can't tell if they are joking or not with the description and don't know whether the game will be serious or a pisstake with giant robots and lol epic meymeys...

I lost interest when I saw "Third-Person Shooter Action". I want a goddamn turn-based tactics game, with play rules that I really want to see converted into tabletop format.

And they are! This is amazing! I didn't dare believe it!

Oh man. Oh man. This is actually quite exciting. Even if they do a cruddy AAA job of making the game, the setting is pretty much unspoiled territory- as far as I can remember, the only WW1 game I've played was a weird side-scrolling adventure/puzzle game I got for free a while ago.

Verdun is supposed to be pretty damned good, as far as recent WW1 FPS goes.

Still excited to see this announcement though.

Anyways Front Mission Evolved is overall serious plotwise, just horribly horribly cliche and kinda shallow, along with the game itself being kind of an insult to its parent franchise.

The issue is not that they said fuck it to the relatively clean designs of the old suits but they then went "Hey, let's place some vomit textures on top, gotta have that HD detail porn!!" . I can only imagine how horrible they'll look in motion with that much visual noise, their best bet would be to get Bay to direct so we're spared of it by way of shaky jump cuts, just like in Transformers.

Anways, todays WTF: Breaking news as the AAA game industry has a fresh idea

The naming thing is still retarded as fuck tho and I'm willing to bet MS had their hands in it so they can be all smart with the marketing, BF1 coming out for Xbox1 first, dohoho. Whoever thought of it should have their thumbs smashed with a meat hammer.

Battlefield does vehicles too so bolt action rifles + early tanks to liven up the gameplay because sitting in a trench will put people to sleep.
Also hey an era that wasn't covered by gaming that well so points for originality.
