I honest to God don't recognise the name. But then I recognise people by avatar almost exclusively.
Man you must HAAAAATE me :P

Actually now I'm wondering how many people are upset with me for not having an avatar.

I think I'm the guy who got Lossmar banned.

I did post something that made him very angry. To be honest, I was thinking I'd be banned for it at the time. And I'm pretty sure I'm the one who sent the report that got LordSlowPoke banned too, though I didnt report him.

Jesus, I have a bodycount.

Something about Toady's avatar just gives me an impression of authority and slight disapproval. If I got a PM from that avatar saying that I was being a jerk, I would reconsider my life.
... Maybe people who get banned have avatars turned off?
I have avatars turned off :o
I agree, but another thing is that Toady is the creator of one of my favorite games. I respect him greatly, as do a lot of us here. It's kinda a perquisite to the Bay12forums. Thus, having him feel we're being nasty is not a good feeling.

I was told I should see a doctor if I am unable to recall people's faces? I can recognize them just fine, but I am unable to describe them. Is that a problem?
I'm always worried that I'll see a crime and be asked to describe the criminals and just respond with "Probably human?"

No, people are pretty unilaterally shit at describing faces. They're bad at recognizing faces, even, especially if the face belongs to someone of a different race.

You're almost certainly faceblind then.  Its definitely a thing.  My best friend is faceblind, doesn't have too much of a bad effect on her life.

Edit:  She watched Cloud Atlas and didn't realize actors were playing multiple roles.  She watched Orphan Black and didn't realize there were clones.

I can recognize faces perfectly though. Like... I remember having seen (not met) people one time multiple years before we are introduced, and I'll be like "Hey, were you at that thing three years ago?"
But recalling the face when it's not there? Nope, not happening.

It's fairly rare for anyone to be particularly good at recalling facial details without context. I could certainly describe the most striking features of some my acquaintances and will recognize their faces at glance for a long, long time from now (probably even better than their names), but drawing an accurate picture without a model is right out.
