*shrugs* Mostly a matter of trying to figure out why people like stuff, in my case. Even if you don't appreciate it yourself, it's often beneficial to you (/how you interact with people) if you can at least understand the parts that appeal to those it does. Even if you don't like pretty men, being able to identify pretty men is generally a good thing, y'know? That sort of concept. The sort of, "Yeah, okay, that's not for me, but I can see why you like it" thing.

... but yeah, a lot of my perspective on that sort of thing is probably at least somewhat warped (compared to most societal norms, anyway). Been on the internet since I was single digits, ran into Anthony's goddamn Firefly when I was like 8. You learn to cope/become ambivalent, or something along those lines.

Guro is one thing. Guro is pretty great when its like, well implemented into the plot and whatnot. When its done with dark humor like Franken Fran and Dorohedoro does. Berserk also does it pretty well, altough it focuses less on organs and whatnot and more on faces getting crushed.
Vore is, uh, bluh? I mean, vore is meant to have sexual connotations, which is a very odd combo that just doesn't float my boat :v
