I get what Neo's saying. Like, a blackface minstrel show is a racist caricature, but "wiggers" are practicing cultural appropriation. One is borderline offensive, the other is genuine interest in the trappings of the culture.

So, for example: dressing up as an American Indian with makeup and all, going around beating your mouth to make those "Indian" noises (if you're American, I know you know what I mean), &c.? That's racist. Dressing up in buckskins, moccasins, &c. as a costume? That's cultural appropriation. Same deal with beliefs and such: the rule of thumb is that it's cultural appropriation if there's genuine interest and appreciation for the culture or aspects thereof, and not if there isn't.

I'm fully in support of cultural appropriation. I love Mexican food, Japanese mass entertainment, Chinese films and gangster music. My life would be very dull and my worldview would be much smaller if I wasn't allowed to experience other people's culture because of some weird self-flagellating chastity and unlike-worship.

As the not-token asian, I feel like "cultural appropriation" is generally annoying, but I don't really see how it could be harmful. I mean, I suppose it spread ignorance, but that just people being dumb.

So, apparently while I was at work, there was a wreck on the highway leading up there with like 12 or 13 cars or something, which has two things about it.

First, I forgot my boots and we had to go back when we first left, had I not forgotten my boots, my mother probably would have ended up in the middle of it after dropping me off.

Second, apparently a semi-truck caught fire. Like, it seems to have just burst into flames.
