Books are another thing which gains value based on rarity- however they also have multiple editions.
So having one of the dwindling stock of 2nd editions is a good thing.

They sell them en masse to a company I used to work for, that recycles the vast majority of them (despite claiming that they focus on resale, and despite the fact that selling them would be extremely profitable) out of a desire to keep a very low headcount (which is attractive to investors, because "employees are parasites".)

Woken up today by a green spider crawling over my arm. Thinking it was a fly, I shook my arm but it kept moving. First time I've seen a spider like it - sort of small, yellow green and with two stripes of yellow/cream down its back. It's not a terrified thread thing, 'cause I wasn't scared, so this thread seems the most appropriate.

I wish there was an easy way to check if a book has been scanned and uploaded online before you get rid of it. I don't have a problem with throwing away books but I understand why some people have such a visceral reaction to it - there are so many gaps in history we could fill if just one more person had kept one book on some mundane subject and we found it today. That's why the internet is great - if a book is available publicly online there's no obligation to keep hard copies (though obviously anyone who still wants to should).

Don't think it was a jumping spider, no. And I don't think many people would say "Awesome" to being woken up by a strange spider

You assume the internet is going to last.

In a world where the internet has been brought down we would enter a dark age more complete than we could imagine at the moment. Many of our books don't even reach print, instead remaining online.

Hey! I think spiders are awesome too, being awoken by one maybe a bit less so because if it happened to me I'm afraid I could squash the poor thing due to being startled/annoyed by "something" crawling over my hand... My money would be on a generic "flower" spider. You know, those kind of little ones you can find chilling on flowers, preying on insects there? Though I believe those kind are usually generic "jumping" spiders too... Eh, I'm not making much sense, just blind guessing.

I just looked up Money Spider on google. All the results seemed to be dark coloured?

Younger individuals have lighter-coloured bodies, so it's quite probably a green huntsman spider, or some closely related species.

In terms of colouring, it could also be a greenish variant of goldenrod crab spider (a.k.a. flower spider), although those are somewhat rare, I think. And they are quite distinctively shaped, as you can see:
