You can see 300+ USD for the really over-engineered specialist ones, meant for specific industries and whatnot. 50+ for tougher/larger ones isn't really terribly surprising. It's not really all that much of a surprise... they're meant to hold some nasty stuff, generally outside under often fairly adverse conditions, and sometimes have to deal with fairly notable weight strain and whatnot. Y'gotta' put a wee titch of resources into something able to manage that for any particular length of time (and a garbage bin can usually last many years if nothing unusual happens to it).

Low end's like 15-20 USD for a really simple one, though. Less euros.
