If you talk to real people about it, or go on any other site that doesn't censor or bash down people of dissenting opinions, or are for people of only ONE opinion... you kind of understand that bay12 isn't that bad.

To admit what I think Bay12 does well controversially is probably politics generally in Liberalism and that stuff (I don't know what that is called other then politics).

LIKELY because no one cares about that kind of politics and most people are part of the disenfranchised voters.

Hearing the average Bay12er talk about feminism is painful to listen to.

Its not so much what they say, its confidence with which they say it.  Its like, just go read every Cracked article pertaining to gender, it'll bring you at least slightly up to speed.  That way you first post won't be "it shouldn't be about women it should be about equality" or something similarly uniformed.  Also most of them are written by men so you won't have to get angry.

Eh, it's just one of those things. There's a group of topics that are pretty much guaranteed to push someone's buttons, and they're coincidentally enough the same ones which tend to get threads locked. That gender-related issues are debatable enough here to actually get to that point is a mark in B12's favor, albeit not a particularly admirable one.

I think the only reason I just don't despise it as a whole is because I think it is one of those topics that people need to discuss... I believe people SHOULD be talking about it.
