I had the strangest Realization that the TV in here has been on the 1950s movie The Ten Commandments for some time. No idea if Janet has actually been watching it or she got bored of channel flipping.
Now that I think of it, I think the only real Easter ritual I have anymore is watching ABC the day before since they always play The Ten Commandments the Saturday before Easter.

Old as hell and plenty bombastic and cheesy but I still got a soft spot for that movie.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

...?!

Using process explorer, the services attached to that particular svchost are

Quote
Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
Offline Files
HomeGroup Listener
Network Connections
Program Compatibility Assistant Service
Superfetch
Distributed Link Tracking Client
Desktop Window Manager Session Manager

I suspect Superfetch is the culprit here. Eg, turning on a large program like MSVS 2013 makes the RAM usage of svchost go up by ~10 MB, and when I turn MSVS on again after closing it, it initializes much faster.

It caches programs and makes them load faster. Good on computers like mine with RAM to spare, bad on computers that have limited RAM.

Yes, but SO WHAT?
There's a joke. Sort of. It's really just, "Ha ha, look at this reference I'm making!" Which, to be fair, is the sort of joke I imagine would be hysterical to somebody who's currently high.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

While looking around Janets images saved on her laptop out of curiosity, usually I just run into porn or cute stuff, or things she uses for inspiration towards RPs and world building stuff.

Other times you run into stuff that's frankly really freaking weird.

What's "Distributed Link Tracking Client?" Is that one of those Folding@home type things?

I remember seeing a couple of toothbrushing threads pop up on /d
Interest flares up for a couple of days and then everyone interested has already found all the good stuff and interest dies until there's enough interested people again.
