Galaga, man. They had a machine at the freshwater lake we used to spend our summers at, swimming, grilling food, digging for snails, trying to catch sunfish with our bare hands, and watching the turtles, loons, and swans. After swimming we'd go to warm up in the Sauna, and play the old Galaga machine they had in the lobby... the owners had rigged it to be free, which was awesome.

I was never very good at it, but that "Preeew" sound the aliens made when they broke formation to attack is pretty much engraved in my memory: Linko

fun fact: Galaga is a sequel to Ace Combat 3, a prequel to Bosconian, and it takes place IIRC around the same time as Dig-Dug.
