Butterfly motif is a'ight. Had a dream once where swarms of butterflies ran around stripping people to the bone and then devouring the bones. It was colorful and awesome.

... okay, so maybe flesh devouring butterfly isn't the best thing to mark your feet with, but... whatever. Butterflies are neat.

Also, their caterpillars devour their prey and then tie the corpse skins to their body for hunting purposes. It confuses the ants that guard the flocks they prey on.

It is literally the insect version of a wolf in sheeps clothing.

harvester caterpillars cover themselves with the remains of woolly aphids they have eaten. The carcasses are tied on with silk, perhaps to protect the caterpillars from predacious ants (that tend and protect the aphids) and other natural enemies.

The adults mostly just feeding on large animal corpses, sucking up the melty flesh fluid.

Wikipedia thinks so! Also neat, and still not as assholeish as wasps. Butterflies remain awesome.

The 504 isn't from spambots, it is from our larger threads overloading the forum software. Usually it only lasts a few minutes, but this isn't the first time it has lasted for several hours.

I'm pretty sure Toady has stated deleting spambot threads is a big reason for them, but *shrug*. Especially as people keep hijacking and posting in them.

I'm getting new shoes this week! Which is great, since the left heel in my current pair is worn through enough that my foot gets wet if I ever step in a puddle.

What color are your shoes?

Will they be at optimum clackiness?

I think I know a kickstarter that would be an instant hit: shoes with a button that toggles clackyness. Or even better, variable levels of clackyness!
