I identify with this WTF...I have three women interested in me right now, ALL of them nearly ten years my senior. I'm not complaining, mind you...or bragging (ok, I'm totally bragging), but it is rather WTF territory.

Admittedly, I hadn't been "on the market" in over ten years, but apparently my market value increased significantly over that time period.

My take on this is that during the school/college/uni years, certain traits are attractive to people - these traist are mostly exhibited in douchebags who are loud and obnoxious. Those of us with brains rather than overt alpha male attitudes tend to fade into the background. Then, as we age, the attractive traits change from the ones associated with asshattery into ones of maturity, intelligence, trustworthiness and so on - traits us geeks have in spades. Then the ball is very much in our sensibly arrnaged yet modestly sized court.

Everytime I hear that I can't help but think: "If I was someone who got to the top of my buisness by stepping on and betraying everyone around me... Why in the WORLD would I surround myself with people who did the same? Wouldn't I want to surround myself with highly talented people who played by the rules because they are the ones least likely to backstab me?"

But you have to be incredibly sneaky about who you step on and how, or all the highly intelligent people with lots of integrity you want working for you when you've reached the top will not trust you.  And this is why evil is stupid.
