I subconsciously filter out any text that isn't in the main body of the post, it's led to me going into my signature to add links and then realizing they've been there for ages several times now.
As is, I don't see any problem with people signing their posts, it's a bit silly yes, but many things people do on forums are silly.

Personally, I don't give a shit about spelling and grammar in casual discussion. If you can convey your message to me in a readable fashion, then I don't care how you go about doing so.

lolk then im just sayin it can get v/ hard to know just wtf ppl are sayin when they abandon all sense of they're grammaticel sense becuz language esp. in type is v/ important. over a few paragraphs or worse this can get downright agonizing Possibly Even Worse When They Make Up There Own Grammatical Rules Like &quote"Decorative"&unquote Grammar Like Spaces Or Commas In Between Full Stops . It Truly Becomes An Eyesore , And Quickly Becomes A ALT-F4 Moment.

I'll be honest, if someone posts/writes something full of grammatical errors, misspelled words, misplaced capital letters and punctuation, and misused words, I'm far less likely to listen to what they have to say. Communication is one of those things where, if you're going to bother doing it, you should do it right. Not perfectly, mind you, but at a basic level of competency.


Obviously exceptions for non-native speakers, etc. (though they're usually far better than the people who are just lazy).

Partly because nothing is as annoying as when somebody dismisses your thoughts, ideas or arguments because they don't like your spelling, rather than addressing the concepts presented, and I would rather not be a hypocrite.

There are some people I know who don't seem to know of the word 'the'. It drives me crazy, but I can at least understand them without pausing for a minute just to figure out what they said.

I'm ok with a few typoes but textspeak on a forum is kind of... stupid.

I mean, you have a few minutes to type out your message. Unless you're post is "gtg gdzlla w/ gatgun wrecking house" you have more than enough time to type out words.

Not very hypocritical if you never do it. I try to avoid misspellings evrywhere or i don't think ym message is going to be aken seriously.

"Teh" is a three letter word.
"The" is a three letter word.
They both use the same letters.
Why would you use Teh, which is not a real word, instead of The?
