So I take it this "qivitoq" is a kind of Greenlandic Slenderman?

Now what it exatcly is I am not sure, but from what I have heard..
A qivitoq is essentially a person, withdrawn from society and going out into the wilderness seldom to return.
They are said to have supernatural abilities and is always to be feared.

But as of it being Slenderman?
I think you may be on to something there..
(Altough Slenderman is a relatively recent thing? The myths of Qivitoq have existed in Greenland for centuries.)

Well, the way I understand it, is that the internet phenomenon iteration of slender as we know him is a modern thing, but he was originally inspired by the Fae Folk from old Germanic legends, who would wander the night, kidnap children, skin'em alive, and things of that nature.

Googling the address of the image reveals that it was used here. Its the second mystcraft picture. Generally its customary to rehost an image if you plan to share it with 100000 people, but whatever.

Well inform your local code monkeys that their next assignment is to make SMP mystcraft work in Tekkit. I don't care for excuses like bug fixes or upgrading to the latest version of MC, I want to be able to drop my friends into unstable worlds with no way home after they spend a hundred hours setting up their factories.
