That's a good point. I have no problem with eating fish, for example.

Or humans. They're like big, juicy roasts just wandering mindlessly around, waiting for you to lure them into an alley and knock 'em out. Enough meat on one to last for a while, too.  Humans: The economical food!

Not quite. That apple was never alive to begin with. More like a specialized bit of the plant. It'd be the equivalent of eating the expelled ovaries of an animal. As it stands, there aren't many animals that expel their ovaries, so it's not really a compatible analogue...
