I'm gonna guess
a) Its blood tastes nasty and animals already have a source of blood (vessels) around the eyes so it's not as big a stretch to evolve
b) Why would you want venom in your eyes D:
c) As for water, if I were a predator I'd probably find it more amusing than threatening if something was projectile-crying at me before I eat it

For what it's worth a bunch of animals do similar things. Ladybugs ooze toxic bugblood out of their leg joints when you freak them out.

Well the lizard would probably evolve immunity to its own venom. If there's a coyote or something chasing it, splashing water on it might slow down for a few seconds. I think have blood that tastes horrible would make most sense.

So apparently an 800 on the SAT Math II subject test is an 88th percentile, and a 750 is a 76th percentile on the Physics test.

I touched my watch to a cubicle partition, I felt a shock and my watch beeped.  Next I looked at it the time was way off, it thought it was Sunday (it's Friday), it had set my alarm that I use to wake up every morning to a little more than half past already late for work, and the date was January first. 

And now, even after setting everything back to the proper times and dates it beeps every hour.  The little paper that came with the watch mentions no such functionality, nor how to turn it off if it did.

My watch has been possessed by the ghost of the cubicle.
