I swear I'm slowly vanishing off of the university's computer systems. One of my practicals was missing marks for a part I submitted, I emailed the person about it, and three weeks later no reply (Sent a chase up earlier, though). I'm supposed to have marks for an exam/practical thing, and they're nonexistant too.
Sounds worrying, speaking in person might be necessary... Anyhow, welcome to the forum! Haven't seen you before in GD, at least  :)
Hang on, I need to get all offended by this.

*ahem*

HOW DARE YOU!? You young whippersnapper, I've been down here since before your account was a thought forming in your head! I was here back when we had to trudge uphill, in the snow to type one single letter to a post we wanted to make! AND WE ENJOYED IT!

Younglings. Back in my day we showed our irritations with the new breed by silently grimacing while we died of consumption and writing them all out of our wills. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to understand, this was back in an older, more civilized age- when posting on the internet required making a blood sacrifice to the hearth god for each bit we wanted to send. Back then we respected brevity and clarity, otherwise we ended up depopulating Poland.

Honestly, half the fatalities during the black plague weren't actually from the plague per se, but from sacrifices made to write scathing yelp reviews about the various 'doctors' of the time.

Or perhaps theyre like us, and one particular neighbor nearby barrels over the hill at 60mph in the middle of the night and occasionally takes out a deer, which the forest service doesnt actually clean up, so you get some free meat

Is nobody gonna comment on this because honestly wtf you dont eat roadkill

You do if you see it get hit or hit it yourself.

Bludgeoning damage kills things just as safe as bullets. Even more so since you can't find birdshot in your turkey, etc.

I'm fairly sure its not safe if it ruptures organs. Fun fact, I know someone with a literal license to collect roadkill.

Bon appetit.

Roadkill eating is considered unglamorous and mocked in pop culture, where it is often associated with stereotypes of rednecks and uncouth persons.

That article's pretty interesting; I particularly like the breakdown by state.

Texas is the opposite of all my expectations.  Not only is collecting roadkill illegal there, but *PETA* was calling for it to be legal!  Wanted the dead animals to at least be eaten.  Pretty cool, for PETA.

In Alaska you can't eat your kills - you have to call in volunteers who retrieve and prepare the meat for the homeless.  Parts of that seem questionable, but I'm just glad the meat gets used!

New Jersey calls some roadkill "furry frisbees".  okay I'm done

Of course you do, as long as it's fresh. Why wouldn't you?

... You know, pretty much all the organs are edible. The stomach and intestines are the only ones that make stuff circumspect if they go blow out, but if you're the kind of person who looks at a chunk of roadkill and goes 'Yep, that's food' you're also probably the kind of person who knows how to butcher an animal properly.

Yeah why not?

Don´t think at what will happen to you as getting parasites. Instead, look at it as an opportunity to get millions of pets that will travel with you everywhere.

Why would fresh roadkill have more parasites than a fresh bulletkill?

If you kill something with your tyres, chances are there won’t be much left to actually eat.

As General Ouromov says: use the bumper, that’s what it’s for.

I ate roadkill rabbit once when I was little.  My dad just clipped the top of its head.  The rest of its body was totally undamaged.  Not everything that gets killed by a vehicle is splattered.

Yeah I wouldnt advise eating random  wildlife either, however you kill it.  Health checks on cattle are done for good reasons
