You need some wooden half-blocks on the top center of the roof, for the tip.

or maybe fences, your choice.

Ack, I was pretty sure there were no wood halfblocks... I accidentally made a bunch of pressure plates.

Now to remove the regular blocks I used to cover that hole.

Since we're running Redpower on the server, there are half (and quarter, and eighth) blocks for almost every material in the game - just construct a diamond hacksaw (3 sticks, 2 iron, 2 diamond, in the rough shape of a hacksaw) and use it to 'craft' (more like 'cut') blocks. You can see the 'cutting' recipes at the bottom of this page (and the hacksaw recipe further up) - http://nemesis.evalq.net/RedPower2/recipes.html . You can also mix and match block types in the same square as far I can remember, although there might still be some lighting errors (as there are for some stairs).

What I'm saying is - you can make that lodge as complicated as you'd like!

Also, observation: endermen are apparently unable to move blocks added by mods, so if you make your house out of basalt or marble, you'll never have to worry about them.

They also can't pick up fences (anymore) which I've put all around my property.

Yeah I don't think I'm going to be rebuilding my entire house out of marble anytime soon ;)

I think before 1.8.1 Endermen could even pick up bedrock. In this version I think snowblocks and double halfblocks are also safe. And most artificial constructions (chests, furnaces).

Anyone remember that Menger Sponge I wanted to build?  Well, I finally managed to make one!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It took *forever*, even with Buildcraft and Equivalent Exchange, and stretched my automatic glowstone factory to the limits.  Even with multiple automatic builders, it took many hours to finish.

Overall, it's 81x81x81, made of a total of 160,000 blocks of cobble.  That's 2,500 stacks!  More than 46 double chests full of cobble!    In Equivalent Exchange, this works out to just under 5 *stacks* of diamond.  Since it's only 64 units from sea level to the top of the map, I had to dig out the area for the lower third of the structure, about 25x100x100, or 25,000 blocks.  With an unlimited supply of diamond pickaxes, digging about 1 block per second, this works out to about 7 hours of continuous digging.  Even with 4 quarries (the base was bigger than the max size of a quarry), each powered by 16 steam engines, it was taking a very long time...

Here are some pictures of the construction process:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I think I now know what it's like to be a legendary furnace operator - load coal into furnace (well, cobble into builder...) load more cobble into builder... repeat... at peak, I was burning through a stack of cobble every 6-7 seconds!

And the finished product:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So... anyone interested in importing this monstrosity into Jaycraft?

I don't do imports for current maps as a rule.  The server isn't hosted on a PC that I can reliably use MCEdit on, and I'd have to take the server down, upload/download it, edit it, upload/download it, copy it again, and put the server back up.

Ouch.  I can see where that would be a problem.

Let's see if I can get a workable minecraft modded to log into Jaycraft now... e.e

The server is being a tremendous baby and apparently needs some TLC which I will handle personally, albeit not for another two weeks.

Edit: apparently my house was being a tremendous lag machine, which Jay disabled, so it might be better now.

The biggest lag by far is when I'm within sight of the embassy. I guess fully-automated uu-matter production is server-usage-intensive.

EDIT: I have a feeling a big redpower update is comming soon, will you be updating the server once it's out? I want fraaaaaames :P

I realize that I cannot really work with Industrialcraft and Buildcraft without somebody along to share the ride. So anybody who wants to share an industrial park where each of us get pretty free reign to edit whatever they want within the park would be handy. I may hammer out a good courtyard to start in before starting this.

But what's the goal of that industrial park? Free-form contraption creation, or do you have a specific industrial goal in mind?
