Well, at least Jun lived.

Although we could have saved all of them too.
Kat? Should've deployed your Armor Lock.
Carter? Okay, maybe not.
Emile? Should've looked at your motion tracker and shotgunned those elites.
Jorge? The Savannah should have only blown up the guns of the corvette.
Noble Six (You.)? Run the hell away, maybe if Emile survived run with him.
Those dead spartans in the last level? Fight harder.
Those Halo Wars spartans? Send a distress call before blowing that place up and drifting in space.

Heh, but I like the overall theme of hopelessness and depression the game brings. I mean, no matter what you do, Reach is doomed. DOOMED I SAY

And suddenly, a Solar Flare destroys the Covenant Fleet on it's way to Reach.

It's hard to know when it actually showed up, given that it was cloaked.

I took the 'cloaked' line to indicate that they knew it was somewhere in-system, and the Covenant always intended the Spire as a sort of 'shock-and-awe' trap or failsafe measure because of the 'teleporter linked to a Supercarrier' line. I doubt it was flitting around taking an active part in the conflict before then (other than refuelling, which apart from destroying the Grafton, was the only other thing we saw it do)

GHETTO SUPERSTAR MEGA EDIT:

Ah, here we go. This is from the Developer's Commentary and various other sources:

Quote
Sometime before August 12, 2552, the Long Night of Solace entered Reach orbit and was cloaked by a network of stealth pylons and Spires. The supercarrier was then able to covertly land troops on the surface of the planet, starting the advance invasion of Reach. It seemed to act as the flagship for the advance force, made up of the supercarrier and multiple corvettes.

On August 12, Spire One was destroyed, revealing the location of the supercarrier to the UNSC. After having its stealth compromised, the Long Night of Solace proceeded to destroy the UNSC Grafton and lay waste to several other UNSC deployments. It then retreated to Covenant-held space in orbit above the planet.

New weekly challenge is to complete a co-op Campaign level on Legendary - we were plowing our way through the 6th level (the one with the Sabres, got the Achievement for destroying the engines + escorts too) and at the end, bam, the Achievement for doing a Weekly Challenge popped up. The challenge changed about halfway through the level, so we didn't even have to organise a time to try for it or nothing, hoorah. About 1/3rd of the way through Warrant Officer now.

Rank doesn't determine your skill. But it's easier to get higher ranks with skill.

You're kidding me right? Getting Major in the first few weeks or so is a challenge.
Hell, I barely do the Daily and Weekly challenges, and somehow still got to Major quickly enough.

I personally enjoyed the atmosphere of Reach's campaign (hopelessness, but with a faint feeling of hope). Though there were far too little Scorpion and space parts. Legendary was ridiculously hard, even in split-screen.

Something's strange with the credit scoring though(at least in split screen), my cousin was getting around 10 or more times as much points as I was getting, no matter what.

Kat? Should've deployed your Armor Lock.
Unfortunately, it was apparently a one-hit kill and she didn't see it coming. Personally, I thought that was a pretty cheap death.

Quote
Carter? Okay, maybe not.
Well, he could have jumped out of the Pelican before it hit. But then there's the questions of would he would be able to survive the fall, would the scarab would land on him and kill him or would miss him, and would his wounds would eventually kill him or not.

Quote
Emile? Should've looked at your motion tracker and shotgunned those elites.
Even if he did, the chance of him getting out and shotgunning them before they get to him is kinda low (those damn Zealots are frigging fast). Plus, he was kinda busy shooting stuff with the railgun to check. Still, I agree, he should have paid more attention and got out earlier.

Quote
Jorge? The Savannah should have only blown up the guns of the corvette.
The Savannah was outgunned without it's mac gun, which it couldn't use because apparently it would render the Ardent Prayer useless for the mission. But I agree, they should have blasted the guns off. Though maybe they were trying to but the tiny guns the Savannah was using couldn't destroy the Ardent Prayer's guns fast enough.

But that wouldn't have saved him, the bomb's timer was damaged and needed to be detonated Forge-style(manually). The Ardent Prayer suffered damage and the way back to the Sabres was blocked. And someone had to be left behind to detonate it, and usually the army troops die before that point. So it was either Six or Jorge.

Quote
Noble Six (You.)? Run the hell away, maybe if Emile survived run with him.
He could run, but he would almost certainly eventually be killed either by the covenant or starvation or something like that since there's basically nothing for many miles around. Personally, I think Keys should have gone back for Six at the last moment. But I guess Six was doomed by Halo CE's history which didn't include him in it.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Kat's death was horrible. Needle rifle? No way, I don't care if the theory is that her shields weren't on because of the glassing. It didn't show the shields cut out therefore I'm annoyed.

Yeah, not only that, but why the frick was a sniper waiting for them while the city was being glassed? Why did the sniper wait for Kat instead of firing on Carter or someone else that came out earlier? Why did no-one even take a peek at the big frigging hole in the ceiling?
