Heresy aside, the Elves just brought me a female elephant. And a male elephant. At the same time.
(They also brought me a gorilla, a jaguar, a cheetah, and two lions. Unfortunately, both lions are male.)

So, after I get my elephant breedery set up, what should I do with them, aside from the usual Elephant Army? I was thinking of maybe chaining a war elephant up to every door/choke point. Really, are there any good uses for Elephants, OTHER than an army?

Oh, and I also meant to ask in the original post, but forgot: Is it odd that the elves are continuously bringing me MORE stuff than the stuff I stole last year? I was under the impression that they would bring less and less as I stole more.

In the corridor that leads to your most glorious champions' romb, build 2-tile long alcoves at the sides. In their end put a cage with elephant. Link it to some lever, wall alcove up, pull the lever. Voila - forever entombed elephants guarding the path to the heroes of legends!

Food food food food food.  A few breeding elephants can produce enough meat to keep a medium-sized fort stocked for years.

I currently have over 80 elephants.  I have no idea what the hell to do with them all.

Hmmm....mod the elephants to be 100 times the normal size and have 100 tusks   that results in SO VERY MUCH FOOD! AHHHH!!!

Seriously, just from the elephants that got killed in battle, (about 3) i had thousands and thousands of food....

Ever since Elephants started providing more meat, I refuse to embark anywhere but a jungle.  Friendlyfire has slain and cooked enough pachyderms to feed its 135-Dwarf population for the next 14 years easily.  No joke, food reserves stand at over 14,000 prepared meals consisting almost entirely of elephant.  I had to cage the rest to keep the breeding down, and I still end up catching another 4 to 8 a year.

and is beneficial not annoying   (idc if i have a hundred elephants kicking around, that is 100 meat shields that turn into the next centuries food stash and income)

Well if one could craft walls from bone, like the occasional bone artifcat floodgate and such, you could potentialy make a building out of elephant ivory. But alas, not yet.
