Number of cells: 42
There are already 42 copies of us out there!

And what if we should die 42 times?

We've only died once so far, we can take our chances. Now develop the light sensitive organelle.

We could try to from some kind of rudimentary multicell organism. Some kind of placozoa.

I object to this. Light sense is INCREDIBLY inefficient. Develop SONAR, if we must.

Why do you say light sense is inefficient? Most multicellular organisms are equipped with it, so it must be pretty useful.

Yes. And MOST multicellular organisms have other, much stronger senses. They have them, therefore they must be MORE useful than light sense.

Well, they're useful in different situation. To find our way back from the rock, light sense would have been cool. Now, I say we should develop chemical sensibility and some kind of advanced motion sensor.

And I say we should avoid making too advanced stuff until we go multicell.

What can we do then? We already got a functional cell. We could go multicell now, forming a sponge or trichoplax.

I support hyphae. We shall be plump helmets! With some extra dwarven mind control properties.
Ahem.
