Lone aliens, mostly drones, become sentient without a queen.

They're still animals. Intelligent animals, but the best they do is use tools they find, not create new ones. The only things it would have in the way of equipment is what it could loot on the field. And considering the location of a tropical island, that boils down to a solid nothing.

And besides, wasn't it you that was complaining that it could have been any alien, and not a drone?  :P

trees won't hide a clinging xenomorph as well as a ditch would a crouching one, for instance, so mode of attack will be limited to pouncing, or charging.
Although the alien might be spotted if razor was looking directly at it, people (and that probably includes anthropomorhpic cats) very seldom look up without good reason.

Not to my knowledge, but if he's such a tech genius he might be able to make one. And don't say it's only beneficial against an alien, a motion tracking device would be invaluable in a situation like this, and since he has a spare three days to prepare he'd have the time to make it.
Although a generic motion tracking device would be more useful than a thermal-based one, it is not that much more useful. He already has a thermal-based one. However, given that up to three of the fifteen potential contestants are cold-blooded or equivalent (the naga is based off a snake, and kikaidia is an android so it would probably count as cold-blooded), It is quite possible that he modifies his existing scanner to accomodate for these.

Lone aliens, mostly drones, become sentient without a queen.
From what my research has shown up (though I have not seen any of the alien movies), it seems likely to assume that the alien normally has a significant amount of natural intelligence, though in the presence of a queen, said intelligence becomes dormant and the alien becomes subservient to the queen. On the island, there would be no limiting influence of a queen, and thus its own intelligence would come into play. Certainly, it would be at least as intelligent as an octopus (and octopodes can be pretty sneaky buggers when they need to).

But due to the size of the island, is it not possible that Razor could spot the Alien off in the distance simply due to the natural expansion of his field of vision?

Reading the wiki I have found a few things. All xenmorph's secrete a resin used for making hives, can use electro-reception to find creatures, and I quote,"they do not radiate heat as their exoskeletal temperature matches the ambient temperature".

Reading the wiki I have found a few things. All xenmorph's secrete a resin used for making hives,
That's great. Make a giant hive that Razor can find and blow up.

can use electro-reception to find creatures,
...So? We knew that. It isn't exactly hidden knowledge, and it doesn't mean unlimited range.

and I quote,"they do not radiate heat as their exoskeletal temperature matches the ambient temperature".
Hence the obvious need to upgrade to a motion tracker, which ed has already stated to be a possibility.

EDIT: Wait, that was in response to my last post wasn't it? Well, in that case it's even less of an argument. I meant see the Alien with his EYES.

What natural expansion of his field of vision?

If you're referring to motion detectors, they detect motion. If the alien sits still up in its tree, the motion detector will do nothing.

There is also the question of the range on the motion detector. As far as I know (and wikipedia knows), there are two ways to have a motion detector - one measures the change in infrared radiation from body heat as uses changes in that to detect motion, which is most likely the standard technology that razor had initially. The other type emits a wave repeatedly and uses the echoes (and changes in echoes) from that wave to detect motion. Combinations of the two also exist, which seems the most likely option that razor would go for when modifying his sensor.

I would rule that it has a greater range than his natural field of vision, as the waves can reflect off or be transmitted through trees, but certainly not a huge distance.

I imagine the alien would be moving along up in the canopy, since it can detect potential victims without any visual input.

What I mean, ed boy, is that when you look forward in a meadow, you may be looking eye-to-eye with someone when they're up in your face. But if they're a hundred feet off in the distance and up in a tree, you'd still be able to see them, especially if they're moving around or their silhouette is strikingly unlike the tree's.

Would Razor stick to the trees, or near the ocean?

And how strong is Razor? How much stuff can he carry and how will it be powered?

Can Razor bring a motorbike?
Razor appears to be using force-based and explosive weapons, I think that a solid hit should be disabling.
I recall The alien usually spent a second extending its second mouth and roaring at people to look scary in the first movie. Are we going to remove the dramatic flourishes in the name of 'not a movie'?

No. If A1 drone had a flair for the dramatic, than this one should, as well. Plot armor removal, but otherwise leave him alone.

It doesn't look good for the Alien. They're dangerous against unarmed, scared and confused people, but they can be torn apart by using superior tactics and weaponry.

How would Alien (first movie) have gone if Ripley had had access to all the weapons and equipment she wanted? Wait, I think we saw that in Aliens when she soloed the Hive.

Can Razor bring a motorbike?
The real question that springs to mind is; "Why didn't I submit Dash Gunmetal?" Seriously, he could bring his enclosed motorcycle like from Spyhunter.

they can be torn apart by using superior tactics and weaponry.
But then Razor has to dodge the acid blood. Depending on the weaponry, it's possible that the impact of a bullet could send blood to Razor's eyes, melting their optic nerve into their grey matter.

By 'torn apart' I meant 'comprehensively and completely defeated', not 'ludicrous amounts of pieces everywhere'. They can overlap, though.
