There's probably a very good reason that we haven't done this yet, and I hadn't noticed it, but why not just dig ourselves a nice big pile of dirt and metamance the iron particles within into slabs? The redder the dirt, the more iron it has.

Why DID no one think of that? That would solve the metal problem easily, we just need red dirt. and Ye Plains-like-thing-doodad is full of that.

You make a Cryswarm shovel an-wait, why are we digging?
You make Robots Jack, Jill, and Bucket shovels and tell them to start digging up the Ye Plains-like-thing-doodad.
