Curious, would anyone be up for a runthrough of the game with a set set of DLC/mods wherein control of the game is passed on with the death of the ruler?  I'm a bit curious as to how things would play out with each ruling member of a dynasty being controlled by a completely different player...

In the ultimate upset to poor blind, infirm, phantom pain Khagan, the Mongols arrived.

In 835. Because I turned them on random.

GGWP.

Become a subject and take them down from within?

You can't become a subject when you're the same rank.

Khagan = Emperor. It sounds impressive, but practically every independent nomad is an emperor.

I think what I'll do is blitz my way West and keep surrendering land to the Mongols every time they attack. Hopefully I can reach England where I can get the achievement to tributary one of their kings.

I thought that the Mongols ask you to become their subject or they attack and if you accept, you drop down one rank and become their subject? At least that is how it used to work.

Even with the nomad DLC content?

I think making all nomads states automatically empires was a nog mistake in design. It makes absolutely no sense ingame that even vassal-clan-less khans are khagans/emperors as long as they hold a single county. If anything I would have tied it to size of the nation and/or amount of vassal clans, and maybe made it shift between levels automatically rather than having to create titles like settled kingdoms do.

So a CKII succession game? I'd be down.

I have fond memories of the Wendish Empire game we did sometime. Interested. Did you have any particular area/religion/time in mind?

We might as well list which DLC we all have so we know what possible combinations we have.  I've rounded off and got all the expansion DLC, but none of the portrait DLC.

I have almost all of the DLC except the Conclave stuff.

Combining ours, that would make the following list, right?

Ruler Designer
Sword of Islam
Legacy of Rome
Sunset Invasion
The Republic
The Old Gods
Sons of Abraham
Rajas of India
Charlemagne
Way of Life
Horse Lords
The Reaper's Due
