I know that, it is the chance that worries me. they are producind tons of heirs, and chances are low. as I said, it is a long and bloody work ahead.
and I'll have to kill daughters too, I may have some kingdoms as agnatic-cognatic. ( although then I could just marry the new male ruler with the female ruler, and unify everything again... )

edit: I guess this new king may have the title "cruel". after 2 "Geoffrey the wise", I really needed a break.

I suppose you could also try to get a bloodline grandson to inherit.   Invite the lustiest young courtiers of the world to your court and then force them  into matrilineal marriages with your daughters.  Untitled male courtiers are pretty easy to convince to move to your court compared with unmarried women.  Once in your court they won't refuse the mat. marriage.

I *think* that your grandson will inherit before your brother.

Also be wary when marrying off male heirs, often times you'll get a counter offer of a matrilineal marriage while they are considering the normal one.  You can refuse the matrilineal, and in a few days they will accept the normal one.

or you could kill your wife and marry a lusty young peasant woman. Killing your wives is always the answer.

Pffff, what. My wife was plotting to kill me at +46 relations to me. What the hell. Why? Why would you do that?

'They can conquer any province bordering one of their own for 50 Piety (vassalizing the current count if possible)'

I'm not sure I like this. It's going to make starting out as small Muslim counts SUCK, when all of the larger Muslim states around you can just conquer you whenever they feel like it.

Oh, it sucks much worse than that: Your liege doesn't gain any tyranny for revoking your title under certain circumstances.  So you have to grow quickly or die.

...

Protip on handing out count titles after a war on foreign, infidel soil: That land you just conquered will be useless to you for a long time, but may be more developed than your land.  So in the future, the land you just conquered will be better than your current land, but for now it is just sapping your tax income.

Whatever shall you do?

Give land to celebate characters in your realm (you can give land to any male in your realm, including the courtiers of your vassals).  When they die, it reverts to you.  Of course, celebate characters can still have children in Crusader Kings, albet rarely, and you won't inherit the lands of counts with children.  But it will work most of the time.

A more risky alternative is to marry your old male courtiers to female courtier past childbearing age, then give the male courtier land.  But your new count might just decide to kill his wife and marry someone younger, or the wife might just die of natural causes.  So it is risky.  And DON'T marry your male courtier to any female with fertility-modifying traits, because ANY fertility modifying trait allows a woman to give birth after childbearing age.

...

Fun thing to do when you hold all the territory in your realm: Change laws.  Your new vassals will be coming after the law change, so they will mostly accept whatever you change the laws to as the status quo they have always lived with.  On a related note, the best time to raise tax/levy levels for the respective vassal types (castle, town, temple) is when you have no vassals of the respective type.

Pffff, what. My wife was plotting to kill me at +46 relations to me. What the hell. Why? Why would you do that?

One theory is that the high frequency of kill plots are simply due to a lack of ambitions for most characters.  Your wife is only plotting to kill you because she has nothing else worth striving for in her life.  Some of the mods try to address this by adding more ambitions.

Or maybe she just feels that she can do better?  :P

I noticed when I installed a mod that increased the number of ambitions, there were a lot less kill plots in my realm. This seems to be a good theory.

I do use a mod, one that adds an ambition that AI controlled characters can pick called "No ambition". But apparently she just really wants me dead. :P

Or maybe she just feels that she can do better?  :P
Problem is that she has no chance to be the leader of my kingdom at all, even if I died.

Also, I've just noticed that the game definitely follows a set number of random numbers. I got an event, I reloaded, I got the same event at around the same time. A guy dies on battle, I reload, the same guy dies on the same battle at around the same time.

Interestingly, when I reload again and remove the guy who dies from leading, some other random mayor decides to kick the bucket. The game really is adamant in wanting kill people apparently. :P

Edit: The Empress of the Byzantine Empire wants to marry my king. :o Granted, it's matrilineally, but still.

Edit2: Oh dear god, there's a crusade for Jerusalem and... the mega-sunni-Ilkhanate has joined the sunni forces defending. Hahaha good luck guys.

I noticed that at +100 relations with my wife (lover and good/shared traits), she started plotting to kill people I would inherit. Now that's true love.

Fun fact: The Ilkhanate in my game is still going strong even though I'd guess they're the size of current day Russia.
Fun fact 2: The top liege's levy is 138000 men. Their yearly income is 587.
Fun fact 3: They aren't picky over who they attack. They attacked the last Romuva pagan, who only had 3 counties for crying out loud, for two counties!
Fun fact 4: They gain so much prestige so fast (11 years, 3K prestige for the current one).
Fun fact 5: My assassination chance on their Khan is a pitiful 16% and my discover chance is 51% due to my crappy Intrigue.
Fun fact 6: I think I'm screwed.

Does anyone have any idea what I could do to stop this monster other than pray for an uber-sucky ruler? D:

Marry into the strongest non-Ilkhanate dynasty in order to get a nice little alliance should they come knocking?
Request that the Papacy starts a holy war in an attempt to drive them back a little?

Assassinate, assassinate and never stop assassinating. Should be able to force a couple of succession crises and hopefully collapse it into nom-able chunks..

Request that the Papacy starts a holy war in an attempt to drive them back a little?
Is it possible to force or speed up a Crusade? Being able to summon all my levies without my vassals complaining is a very powerful tool.

What about using plots to kill the Khan? They probably will have gotten quite a few enemies in their vassals if they are that big, so it might be the best option.

She probably just loves her children :).

Which can be quite a problem if you have children by multiply wives. The youngest wives always want to kill they stepsons.
