Someone did some Science and posted it in the CKii Paradox forums. I assume he did it right.

@Dutchling: Hm, in one of my games I played as a family that just kept on having kids with the 'Quick' trait over and over throughout several generations. It was pretty awesome. I can't remember if I specifically hunted for spouses with that trait, though...

quick question... if a person is married matrilinearly ( or whatever it is spelt, children are mother's bloodline), will the children still inherit father's titles?

I seem to have a ... uhh... slight problem, in which I married 2 sons to a countess and a duchess, which somehow resulted in matrilinear marriage.
the heir ( now king), instead, had 3 daughter. and he is already 40. his wife being older, I had her killed and married him to a younger woman. but one of the brothers with no children of my blood is the next heir, if my old king doesn't manage to make a son quickly.
if non bloodline can inherit...

Kill the heirs until you get one of your dynasty.

all 5 of them... plus all the ones they will spawn. since they are both young.
and then, all the heirs the other brother is spawning too, since he would be the next.

this is going to be messy...

also, my chances are terrible.  I guess marrying them to a duchess and a countess in another kingdom in an effort to spread the bloodline wasn't a good idea after all.

especially since the king is already one of my house ( I married with an irish noble at the beginning... who knew his line would unite ireland?)

He doesn't have any heirs of his own dynasty. Does the king have a brother that's not in a matrilinear marriage? If not, you should probably kill off the daughters anyway so he can inherit, then kill off his possible children and wife, then remarry and get children of your own dynasty.

You're going to have a lot of killing in front of you, my friend.

Try to get elective or seniority succession.

having the brothers remarry may not bring new children. by the time my king is dead, and I get my hands on them, they may be 50+
I could still kill all heirs, and see the kingdom passed to another branch of my family ( trust me, they aren't lacking. I have branches of my family everywhere in europe).

seniority might be a good idea.
although I guess I should change it in all my kingdoms? having 5 kingdoms and no empire makes crown laws a mess.

Ah yes, that might be a problem.
If you can change laws on all (or most) kingdoms, you should probably change it to agnatic. That way it would go to your brother, unless you get a son first.

oh, it will go to my brother. the problem is that both brothers are dead ends.
I'll wait until ruler is 50, then I'll start switching to seniority.
which is going to be extremely good or extremely bad. half of my kingdom is ruled by family members, and there are plenty outside it too. I could get counties all around the world.

wish me good luck!

But if you have more family members your brother won't be dead ends. Their cousins/etc will inherit.

I was worried about sons. there will be a lot of killing to do, and I can do little while they are in a powerful court. I'll start trying to assassinate everyone, but who knows if I can do it fast enough?

You can start intrigue events against your brother's wives even if they don't show up in the plots and ambitions list.  Go to their character's page and under their portrait to the left you can select a kill plot.  You'll need to find backers in their own court though.  This can be made easy if you befriend their spymaster, as they tend to provide a ton of plot power.  This should free them up for regular marriages. Not sure if they will return to your court or stay in their wife's.
