time doesn't really matter to us. or maybe it does... either way, don't you think that having a giant oculoid (though chianed) as a friend just might be a little useful?

I think the bigger issue is that it has an army of oculoid friends...

Which could just as well be our friends too... Or eat us while Skree laughs at the treachery

Skree has worked hard and deserves our tasty metallic flesh.

Approach the large occuloid slowly, to gauge it's reaction, if any.
think the most non-violent, friendly thoughts you possibly can.

You begin to slowly move towards the back of the room, trying to stay as friendly as you can, hoping it hasn’t noticed you--

skrEEEeeEEeeeeeEEEeEeEEeEeEEeeeeeeEEEeeee

It howls a very pained roar. You immediately back off.

Is that our whip down to the right, or Oculoid tentacles??

Is… is that… could it be…?

HELL YES YOU GOT YOUR WHIP BACK

Look under the various rubble in the room

Gah! You can’t move any of this metal; it’s ridiculously heavy.

Communicate with smaller occuloids, send messages of 'friend' and 'help' and try to gauge their feelings for the giant one.

Unfortunately, you can’t get close enough to pick one up.

Edge carefully along the (fourth) wall to see if you can climb down into the second hole with the ladder.

Yep, you’re far away enough not to bother the thing. You’ll deal with this later. Right now, there’s something else you’re looking forwards to.

If you remember the map right, this room ought to be the Rec Room on the other side of where you woke up, where Patch said the control pallet is! You descend the ladder quite quickly, anxious to find the last of your brothers. You are very curious to see how many are left--

Oh. Oh no.

They look fiiiine just need a bit of patching up... If anything try looking for some hidden arms for Patch or try to salvage some metal parts for later smithing. (What are those round triangle-shaped things... Some kind of heart or organ? And maybe check if theres something in the machine right there.. I looks like something was thrown into it.

OMG wait just noticed... Theres an arm stuck in the machine right there... TAKE IT

Wow, it looks like someone did a number on them. I say we better get back to Patch before Monopoly Man does.

Call Skree back to us and haul ass back to Patch as fast as we can.

Also, I just noticed, the large occuloid is also missing it's mouth tentacles. Man, that must suck.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

The skinless robot torso gives me the idea that Gentleman might have come here for "repairs" already, but I don't recall exactly what obstacles before the two passwords it took us to get here. I'm assuming Gentleman would have decided the giant occuloid was "unsafe until proper methods of neutralization were acquired".

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.
