The Diablo 2 droprate is complete shit. I need to stop playing this shitbag game and actually do things with my life. Or waste my life in more productive ways than farming shit bosses with shit droprates in Diablo 2 hoping to find good gear to play through the whole game again on a harder difficulty to try and get better loot. I've played the game to death and killed all fun in it and I should stop.

Tomorrow I'm totally not going to play video games all day. Now watch as I play video games all day tomorrow.

Not a fan of cell-shading, myself.  Hideous enough to be unwatchable/unplayable in most cases, actually.

I liked it in Wind Waker but I still can't stand Borderland's art style.

The difference is that Borderlands is bland.  Like oh hey, let's go on an adventure in an alien... wasteland... which contains mainly garbage.  They went for stylized but all they really accomplished was replacing "real is grey" with "real is washed out earth tones".

Borderlands 2 was kinda better than 1 in that regard. More tones of green and the occasional shade of white to offset the brown and gray. The PreSequel is more bland than BL1, in my opinion. The moon setting is just constant blue-gray and all the buildings look like the same type of structure.

Fun fact, you can make changes to the init files of the Borderlands games on the PC. For example, you can disable the black outline the game renders over everything to achieve the cartoony comic look. Game looks lots cleaner without the lines and runs better too.

yea the music for pre-sequel was pretty bleh also. And the selection of bad guys. 2 was my fav, but I still love the others.

I agree heartily. Especially since all I play is single player. With multiplayer on Diablo 2 you can trade with other players, and there's an entire economy set up over it, as well as various items only available when playing online, and various meta-tactics centered around online play. So it's easier to work around the drop rate and get the equipment needed.

But I'm single player, so getting good gear is limited to the whim of the random number jesus. Farming can be fun and a relazing way to kill some time and unwind, if the drop rates were better. It can also be frustrating and addictive and frustrating and timewasting. Buuuuut, having also tried modding with third party save editors (game's been out for ~14 years now, of course these exist) and savescumming (because I'm singleplayer and it's my save games and I'll do what I want, cheating or no), I've found that save editing also kinda takes the fun out of it.

It's satisfying to take a character that started with nothing and get them up and through the hardest difficulty all through your own hard work. Less satisfying to get most of the way there, struggle because your gear is rubbish, and then mod the good gear in and find that you were being held back because rng just didn't give you what you needed.

I should just stop playing for a while at this point but I have a problem and that problem is vidyah gaem addiction. yeah, I was frustrated at the game for being a stingy prick and frustrated at myself for not stopping when I should stop, and so I vented and posted.

Anyone ever had a math problem or a jigsaw puzzle or something like that that's really hard to assemble/solve and it drives you buckfug nuts until you finally fukimg solve it? I got one of those things for Christmas and it's so addictively frustrating dear god I can't sleep because of this fucking thing RRRRRGRGH I don't want to play with it any more but my brain won't let me go away

... I might actually like it without the black outlines.  I thought their rendering style was actually pretty good, except for those.  Too obnoxiously stark, and ruins sense of depth.  I do think cell-shading can look really good, but it's very rare that anyone implements just the right balance between smooth and detailed... or refrains from doing stupid shit like putting thick black outlines around everything.

This is why I like Dork Souls. Besides being P R E T T Y, it's also a lot about actual combat skill~

Of course, if your sword is a +1 to Suckitude, you're still gonna get your ass beat, but it's POSSIBLE to kill a dragon with a spoon. Just very, very hard.

I found out the hard way that if you're not connected to the internet while you play DA:I, the game doesn't use any Keep info and defaults to the generic Hawke/Warden backstories. I learned this the hard way when I asked Varric about Hawke's companions and he talked about Fenris (who's supposed to be dead) and Isabella (who I never met when I played the game) and how they're alive and well and kicking ass. I like to imagine my character staring at him and going, "I'm starting to see some inconsistencies in your book..."

Another day, another problem with the computer... yesterday it was the motherboard refusing to accept that the 6570 had been replaced with an R9, and that was just because a single plug from the PSU wasn't in the right place. Today, it's Fallout Mod Manager refusing to turn on Archive Invalidation, so now every mod has buggy textures for it's added items, and I have no idea what's causing the problem. And now I'm starting to get a headache, be it from caffeine withdrawal or stress... I'm gonna go pour myself some damn coffee or something. Stupid computer.

Then again, mine was bought second hand from a pawn shop for cheap, but still. The power cord randomly crapping out (during a DF turn) does not a happy Yoink make. Maybe I'll just move home and get a new one.
