Thanks. Apparently it can happen with bronchitis, which is what I was diagnosed as having. This would be the first time I've ever coughed up blood while having bronchitis though.

A severe case of bronchitis is probably better than a severe case of "aaah I'm bleeding from the internal surfaces of a major organ and they don't know why", but it's still not fun. Get well soon, and so on. Hope you don't (have to) miss too much work.

Edit: aaaaaah the test case document got corrupted too. Aaah.

Yeah, but not somewhere I can get them. The trouble with backups is that they have to be on the same flash drive if I want them to come with me. I think I've got the test cases back from memory now. One of the text files was on the cloud, and no-one will know if the others aren't exactly the same as they were.

My dormmate is an absolute dick. Up till ass-o'clock in the morning chatting away with his girlfriend on Skype meanwhile I was trying to sleep because I had a test this morning in a class that I'm liable to sleep through if I don't get enough sleep.

I ask him to try to keep it down, he's like, 'I don't complain about what you do, so don't even go there'.

What the everloving fuck do I do? He won't tell me. Just keeps saying I don't want to go there.

He's selfish but he's not brave enough to be forthright with you so he dodges the question with neutral phrases to avoid being confronted about something inconsiderate he did.

Have you thought about murderizing him?

He seems to prioritize his girlfriend more than you? :-\ [But yeah, that's real inconsiderate...or you've very great hearing.]
Because its quite a weird response. "Please tone it down, I'm trying to sleep."
'I don't complain about what you do, so don't even go there'.

The more experience I have with the business world, the more remarkable it is to me that civilization continues to function at all.  As far as I can tell, the only reason it does so is because of the ability of actual workers to shrug off the clueless demands and pressures from most of those we think of as "leaders".  Everyone I've met above middle management never has a clue what's actually going on, and expects to get more for less from everyone below them year after year, without bothering to try and understand the consequences of their demands on anyone or acknowledging that reality is subject to limitations that cannot be budged by any amount of authoritarianism.

If my boss pressures me today, I will be sorely tempted to freely speak my mind.

Yeah, Salmon, I can understand those sentiments.  It seems that once you get into managing anywhere you're much more wanted within the industry.  I've actually heard of cases where a McDonalds manager got hired for one of the larger tech companies in the area that I live, solely for the fact that he had managerial experience.

Not a damned clue what a motherboard was though.

I'm lucky to have learned that chunk early on. .-.

The real fun is when that one word doesn't exist in the language you're writing in.

Is when english writers steal words from other languages, yes. Or just invent stuff. Not sure how other languages deal with that particular problem.
