Seriously though, the laser turrets are amazing. Cheap(ish) to build, fairly easy to power, only occasionally get blown up by creepers...

Thought I fixed my desktop. It was even running for a while too. Then it crashed again.

I have no idea what the problem is, but that sounds bad, so I'm presenting you with great sympathy. I hope your computer decides to reconsider its new career as a heavy metal box.
