Yeah, looking at the wiki page it's... pretty complicated. Kinda' amusing that the states stole the copyright to th'book as spoils of war at one point.

I'm a few pages into the first chapter.
My response is spoilered, in case any of you haven't read this yet.

Except he did paint, until WWI came along and he (mostly) stopped doing it. His stuff doesn't seem very impressive anyway.

Ahh, didn't know that, and I read the rest of the chapter and learned a bit more of what I was trying to talk about.
I'm going into this with very little knowledge about the man behind the 'stache.
Thanks for the enlightenment, all the information here is information I can probably not use since we've already finished WWII in History class, but it's fun to know, otherwise.

He also might not have been able to paint after WWI, as he got bombed with mustard gas. It traumatized him so much that he forbid the Wehrmacht from using it once he became Fuhrer.

Didn't he also have a nut sliced off/open by a bit of shrapnel?

IIRC the only information we have on that is that he sustained a non-serious wound to the groin region. But the Russian autopsy later on said that everything was intact. Some people don't trust the autopsy but I don't really see a lot of reason to doubt it.

Also he did try to enter art school too, but the school rejected him on account of him just not being a very good painter.

Some of his portfolio from 1918~1923 isn't very good, but then again, war trauma. We studied his work a little bit in our Drawing class, of all places.

So, hundred percent chance that someone'll post that to the OOC thread?
