supposed to help with insomnia for those who spend a lot of time on the computer.

...
Is that a thing? Maybe I should look into that, as total inability to sleep is sort of an issue right now.
Indeedy. You're supposed to do without "forced light" (light from electronic sources, like video games, tvs and computer screens,) for an hour before you go to bed.

Pffffhehehehe!
I don't see how or why I would do such a thing. (okay, the why was stated, but I don't think it's good enough.)

Personally I use about a thousand watts of blueish 'daylight' florescent bulbs for 20 minutes every morning to set my cycle. to get to sleep I need to avoid eating for 2 hours before bed.

Its Michael Bay.  He thought to himself;  "How can I make TMNT more explosive.  Hmm....  T-NT.  TNT, perfect!  TNT is explosive!  Nobody will care if I take the mutant bit out."

Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.
Our fans need to STFU and eat what we feed them. They are just sore because they don't know what a freaking awesome script we have, bro! Fuck yo world, I can do it better. You just wait, there is going to be this thing where they are orphans from an alien world, and then there will be this really emotional scene where the turtles are found by their biological race and offered to be taken back home, but they choose to stay with the humans that I have been building a back story for the entire movie.

I'm right, aren't I? Look into your heart, you know it to be true.

Except he's probably contractually obligated to use the brand name. And that's what gets me. They're going to be Alien Turtles who are still called Mutants. Does. Not. Fucking. Compute. Hollywood. I could care less about what gets done to the franchise, personally, TMNT just aren't that awesome to me anymore. But the absurdity of it just kind of makes me physically angry at the people in charge.

You know I'm like 99% Michael Bay is a narcissist? These movies of his? They are just him telling himself 'I could do all of this so much better! Look at my genius!' and then when they sell well he doesn't realise it is because he is riding on the coat tails of nostalgia, rather than anything he did.

I was joking, but now I have to ask; what would those reasons be? Does alien life not mutate?

Also 1000 bucks on their old having been invaded and destroyed by Krang's species and now they are the only ones standing between Krang and Earth.

...Hid name was Krang, wasn't it?

Yep.

Well, for one, compound tropes are pretty infantile. Cyborg-Zombie? Cyborg-Ninja (Yes I realize there is probably at least one of those in TMNT) Dinosaur-demon? Ninja Turtle? :P

So yeah, let's not only have aliens, but mutated aliens, that are also ninjas, to compound the weirdness. Michael Bay's target audience IS kids, so that's probably right in line with his thinking. Which is why I find it kind of dumb.

For two, the premise was terrestrial life mutated. The whole theme of the late 80s and 90s was people getting mutated by radioactive goo. So it's like the farthest justification you could use to still call them "mutants" while totally missing the point of what makes mutation cool.

Honestly it could still turn out fine. It just doesn't look like it will, heh.

Michael Bay could make good movies if he was a bit more self aware of the silliness on screen.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
