So, at work I had a simple little bug I was putting off till I got the rest of my stuff done. No biggie. Turns out the bug does not at all mention what the hell is actually wrong.

People complaining about heat. Got an email from home about 90 F temperatures. My tent is 90 degrees during the day. I actually shiver and put on a stocking cap and sweatshirt.

90 F? That's not really hot. Its around 100 F here. Everybody is complaining about the heat here too and I'm getting sick of hearing things like "it's so hot" from everyone.

I love hearing people complain about summer, after those same people were complaining about how cold it is the other half of the year...

Maybe one day they'll realize winter isn't so bad, and I'll be better able to enjoy my favorite season.  All that will be left is to destroy the holidays.

There are about 2 months of the year where the temperature is borderline acceptable, and even then - British weather generally chucks a spanner in the works. Great dislike for temperatures deviating from 12-17 degrees.

Also I basically live for holidays.

It's the same in Indiana.  Spring and Fall are basically non-existent.  If either gives us temperatures within the 50-75 F range for more than two weeks, it's a miracle.

But I'm totally ok with winter.  I find cold invigorating and much easier to manage than heat.  Snow and ice are beautiful and fun.  I can actually get places faster in the snow than in "good" weather, because there's no traffic in the way.  I find a sense of adventure in winter weather.

Christmas... I'm just not fond of the overbearing commercialism, the cheapening effect on the notion of gift giving, or the obnoxious atmosphere it forces on me (the same few songs everywhere you go all day every day for like 3 months and marring of the landscape (especially my beloved night hours) with hundreds of thousands tacky colored lights).  I understand I'm in the vast minority with that opinion and just deal with it.  I still love winter.  It's probably different in Britain.

In minnesota we literally have the worst winters and the worst summers. In the winter it can get down to -20 F (And it stayed that way for a few weeks.) and in the summer it recently got up to 110 F.

Summer:"Wahh, it's so hot..." Well yea, it's Florida.  That's kind of expected.

Winter:"Wahh it's so cold." it gets down to like 40F. And the weathermen absolutely freak the maybe two times a year it gets below 32F at midnight.  You want real cold?  Leave the subtropical zone.

There's some cool stuff you can do at -20 F, though.  Next time, try going outside and blowing some bubbles.  It's awesome.

And yeah, Indiana is only slightly less extreme (more like -10 to 100), though I imagine we're more erratic.  Sudden shifts in temperature up to 40 degrees from one day to the next aren't that uncommon at any time of year.  It especially wreaks havoc on the state towards the end of winter, when the temperature fluctuates well under and well over freezing literally every day for weeks... during the day everything is mud and at night everything is ice, and all our roads simply crumble.

No thanks dude. I lived in Montana  and also in the Lake Effect part of New York. I like walking out into the winter cold and saying "I better zip up my jacket" rather than saying "I don't think I can add another layer of parka's."

Well that was more my response to folks saying those things down here than me actually complaining about it being so hot or cold.

I just keep hearing folks complaining about being too hot or too cold, and the non quotation mark stuff was how I would like to respond sometime.

[rant]...Well that, and all these people that smoke complaining about having to go outside (where it's soooooo hot) to smoke instead of being able to smoke inside.

I don't wanna smell that crap, and it's bad for the computers, that's ignoring all the other anti-smoking garbage I keep hearing that is probably only half true.  If it bothers you that much why not quit?  Sure, sure, it's an addiction, I know that.  But stop using that as your excuse to not even try![/rant]

Grrr, laptop keyboard. Your Function key doesn't want to. Now I have to figure out how to disable the track pad manually when I want to play Minecraft. Fn+F9 was nice and easy... Also, now I have to interrupt whatever I was doing to mute my volume when I think I hear something I might want to hear (like the phone ringing, my dad talking to me, etc), as opposed to Fn+Esc.

Not so much RRAAAAAGGGGEEEE as annoyance, but meh.

EDIT: Never mind, restarting fixed it.
