Yes, damn those progressives!  Trying to move us forward into the "future" instead of back into a half-imagined past.
Ha ha ha ha

-snip for space-saving-
Too much enter key. Waaaay too much enter key.

And all the messages I see that are "forward this or you're a bad christian" or "repost this because if you don't the llamas will eat you" are an absolute pain in the ass. If I want to post, email, or generally discuss something, especially my religion, I will do it my way and with my own message, thank you very much.

Dear German spelling:

I wish to enact violence upon your person.

No regrets,

I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think!
There's plenty of rather odd statements in there, but this strikes me as the most vague and ridiculous.

I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA !
Ah yes, a man who supports traditional American values.  Hmm, what is the first American value that most people would think of again...?

Dear German spelling:

I wish to enact violence upon your person.
Isn't it... pretty regular and phonetic?  What exactly is wrong with it?

Umlauts.

There's about a billion sounds that are written differently but sound pretty similar.  Hence: violence with swords.

The general rule I learnt (pronounce the second vowel) seems to hold pretty well...

Umlauts are the least of your problems if it's the pronunciations.

You should be bashing on the C's or something.

Or was that French?

Honestly, I thought that I got enough of this bullshit with learning to spell French and work out the gender system there.  But then it turns out that German is even more complicated >:I

If it's got a -chen then it's neutral.

And if it has a RL gender then chances are it has the same gender grammatically.

Aaaand the rest I guess is like any language. You jus' kinda have to know 'em.

You English speaking people and your trouble with genders :P

If it's got a -chen then it's neutral.
First reaction was to yell "Wrong!".
But after recalling all words I could with that ending and a quick check using google, I was suprised.

Well, I was never a person to learn language using rules.
I use my gut feeling for that  :P

Nah, diminuitive is always neutral.

Which is why girls apparently are genderless :V

WIN

*cough*

I still hate this German class.  I suspect the language could be taught in a far more engaging manner.

It could, but you have to take matters into your own hands, if you want that.
First however, you need the basics and those are universally dry for any language, taught by any teacher.
At least from my experience.
