I got a call at 8:30 last night asking if I would cover one of the other sales reps today. It's only about 35 miles, and they're willing to pay mileage. I'm greedy and kind of proud of being a go to guy. So, I said yes.

MaximumZero, expert salesman, racked up almost $10k in merchandise sales at my second 5 hour gig today, as well as almost $3k in services (that aren't compulsory for me to try to sell, and I outsold all the actual employees in the store by a wide margin) only to be told by the manager that I "should have a more hands off approach. Get the information from the customer and just let the actual salesmen do the selling. You know vendors really aren't very useful in sales anyway. I don't know why they even sent you to this store. It's not like we would have missed the other rep."

Cue DBZ-style-RAEG scream.

I...really appreciate that, MSH. In fact, I'm kind of dumbfounded. I mean, yeah, I'm good about attaching to every sale and promoting brand loyalty among my own brand, and my bosses give me free reign to do whatever I please so long as my numbers stay as good as they are, but I don't think I'm good enough to stand on my own. I give credit to the actual product that I'm selling.
