Hm, you'd have to calculate the return per circulated dollar to see if it works out - does anyone have the numbers?

Don't you lose money no matter what you do, since this is a fee applied to the money you're transferring? The fee might be smaller one way than another, but I can't imagine how anybody but Paypal profits.

EDIT: Also, I'm angry that I had to explain why blackface is not equivalent to whiteface to a coworker. I think I might actually be starting to hate this guy - it's the same one that claimed the Nazis somehow rendered modern Germany's (superficial) objection to NSA activities either pointless or hypocritical. I just can't stand this combination of personality traits - he's the sort of guy who needs to be right in every conversation (which means he needs to join every conversation), and he's so self-centered that he can't imagine how any perspective that isn't his could possibly matter.

Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”

:P

Yeah, I get that there's a bit of irony in making that post. I mean, I understand that from his perspective, political correctness is a force trying to force him to act and think in a particular way that shouldn't even matter, "since he's not a racist, anyway". It seems oppressive, so of course he complains that it's a hypocritical way to fight oppression. It's just that because he's so focused on how it affects him, he's completely unable to understand that "political correctness" is just another way of saying, "actively trying to be empathetic". Empathy is so fundamentally about other people that this just doesn't seem to occur to him.

At any rate, the important thing I'm rambling about in this and the last post is that I very much dislike having to be friendly with somebody who so thoroughly rubs me the wrong way. The actual things he says that upset me are much less important.

My father (Who I'm sharing an apartment with) called me and offered to give me a ride home from work, and we'd hit gamestop (I was heading there on my bike) on the way back. I ride to where I usually meet him, wait ten minutes, and then turn back thinking me might have passed me, or gone the other way, thinking I'll meet him there. Instead, five minutes after I turn around and head back to the area my work is in, he pulls up, pissed of that I wasn't where I was supposed to be. He refuses to take me to Gamestop (The only fucking reason I took him up on his offer), and instead drives back to the apartment, sayng that we'll go in a little bit, we'll take my Little Brother along with us... Despite the fact that I want to buy GTAV and don't want to have to deal with my eight year old brother wandering into my room and demanding he watch me play despite the fact that he's not supposed to go in there without permission (He does it all the time when I'm playing something he can't watch/want to be left alone.), and the fact that I can't play it if he is going to watch me.

Anyway, long story short, we never fucking go because he's too god damn lazy to get off his fat ass and does't believe me that it closes at 6pm, insisting that we'll go at 7 and by the time I finally convince him to get going... my little brother gets upset and almost has a hissy fit because an hour before dad promised we'd play Sorry! with him. So... We don't get to go because my little brother demands dad upholds his promise, despite the fact that he was going to fulfill a promise he had made earlier. Even better, the next time I'll be able to hitch a ride there is in a week, and Gamestop wont accept the 75$ gift-card I got for my birthday two weeks ago online, and it wants 10 dollars for shipping that would get me it by Wednesday.

Oh, and the reason he was late? He got off the phone and decided to continue the game of Battleship he and my little brother were playing. If you are going to call someone that you'll get them, go fucking get them instead of waiting for fifteen minutes and THEN getting them, especially when the fucking weather outside is below freezing.

So I'm just generally pissed off now, and the fact that I have to ride my bike up there tomorrow in potentially below freezing temperatures because someone can't fucking be bothered to do what they said they were going to do isn't helping.

Bauglir, if a black guy is going to paint himself in Whiteface, he shouldn't get pissy about Blackface. Double standards are bullshit.

But if it was just Whiteface/Blackface in general, I agree with you.

At the same time, however, political correctness has a limit, and at times it shouldn't be enforced. Hence why you never hear about the Black on Black crimes / Black on White crimes, just the White on Black crimes lately. I can't remember the newspaper, I think it was the NY Times (But I could be wrong. I know it was a big one, however) , but the man who owns it has flat out said he refuses to allow his paper to cover Black on Black /Black on White/ Black on other minorities crimes because he doesn't want to be seen as 'Stereotyping Black men' by reporting the actions of criminals.

Whoever once said "no good deed goes unpunished" must have been thinking about me, because lately it seems that every time I do a favor for anyone it ends up biting me in the ass.

Tonight, for instance. I was playing a quick game of Teleglitch and planning to go get dinner after I died, when suddenly I get a call from my dispatcher asking me to please go pick up a trailer in a city I have never been to at a store I have never seen. When I had barely 90 minutes remaining on my all day clock that was ticking down fast. I hesitated, but eventually (figuring that it was important to show my bosses that I was willing to do this sort of thing) agree to do it, running out to my truck and heading out.

Getting to the store: no problem. Finding and hooking up to the trailer: no sweat. Getting out: a nightmare. You couldn't leave the same way you came in, and I wound up in a bad spot that took nearly half an hour to escape from without wrecking anything. Eventually I found the proper route out and headed back to base, but by the time I got there I had less than five minutes remaining. Three minutes to check in, two minutes to find the spot to drop the trailer...oops, I'm out of time. I can no longer drive without violating federal law. I drop the trailer, limp over to an empty parking spot (computer screaming at me to stop moving the entire way), and shut down.

So here I am, in a noisy warehouse parking lot, with no food, nothing to drink except bottled water, the sale I was looking at before I left will no longer be valid by the time I get a chance to go online tomorrow...and if I had just said "no thanks" to begin with this night would have turned out so much better. I don't think I'm even getting paid for that little errand.

Got home late tonight to discover that my cats don't care for my sense of décor.  They thought the Christmas tree looked much better on the floor, and that the ornaments should be separate and scattered as widely as is felinely possible.  Bonus points for removing and hiding as many of the hangers as possible.

I'm hoping that they won't make this a habit, as they seem to have forgotten that I control the flow of kitty kibble into their food bowl.

Yo, Sirus, if it was a Steam Sale, you could PM me your username and the game, and I'll see if I can shoot a copy your way. I have no ability to assist with other online sales, however, but it seems worth offering.

Just remembered that I decided a long time ago that pursuing art as a hobby in any way was ruled out by myself because I couldn't physically make non-shaky lines when in reality I just wasn't holding my implement with a firm enough grip for 13 goddamn years.

Seriously, I had a dream in freaking Kindergarten that First Grade would be too hard because they would make me draw.

...I think I need sturdier pens, considering that when drawing I hold them as hard as I can without them breaking and the goddamn lines still ain't straight

It might be what I get for buying these cheap ones with transparent plastic casings. Might.

Guys, guys....it's very simple. People who can draw straight lines without a ruler are clearly wizards. Let us non-wizards (Squiggles?) leave them to their fantastical artsy ways.
