What about the turrets? I thought it wouldn't have mattered what direction the ship was facing for the turrets, for stuff not on the other side of the ship from the turret anyway.
Turrets can fire 360 degrees, so they always see their target. Though they can't tilt very far: The ship they're on is in the way.

I was aware of the fact that they can't tilt very far (assuming they don't have the capability to swivel the gun ports in a 180 degree arc), which is why I said a rough hemispherical zone. Technically it would look more like a toroid (a donut is a toroid) since the gun ports wouldn't be able to go exactly 90 degrees or straight 'up' from the ships outer hull.

Yerg, I'm kind of confused here, I can't tell what you're question is. Oh wait, you're continuing with your last post that I forgot to reply to? Yes, turrets can fire in a hemispherical zone/toroid. Yes it doesn't matter which way the ship is facing. Is that what you were asking about?

Yes because you seemed to imply in the turn post that the turrets couldn't fire because we were facing the wrong way.

What are you talking about? I didn't imply that at all. Check it yourself.

(the facing also brings up the question... how the freckles did the ships get there while facing in a wrong direction? You'd think they would need their main thrusters to move - like those on the aft of the ship, for instance...)
Clearly all ships in this universe fly backwards.

So we can only move quickly backwards, then? I guess we let the French design our engine systems...
Also, REVERT. PLS REVERT! I havn't had range on a shot in frickin' forever, mon.
I don't think we pissed off the RNG. I think you did by making it think so much. At first, we had good rolls (I found a rocket launcher lying around in the middle of a ship, for crying out loud!) then more rules showed up, and rolls got worse. Therefore, more rules = lower rolls. Also, this is getting so complex, I think it's become Dungeons and Dragons: 51st edition.

Anyway, my turn:
(Voidraper)

If the Captain or copilot could _please_ get me into some sort of range, shoot the destroyer.

Oh, also; its been like 2 or 3 turns now (while I've had very little to do), I think the dizzyness would have probably worn off by now, since nothings making it worse, and my char's just been sitting there.

...Oh, I forgot to remove your dizzyness for a while, whops. That'll be fixed next turn.

Anyway, we're still short 5 players...

Honestly? You guys gave up on this RTD? Because with only 7 out of 12 players I won't continue, I'm not going to GMer all five of you.

Oh well, been fun guys, but if half of the players aren't going to post their turns, then this RTD is done. I hope to do better RTDs in the future, and I hope you guys will enjoy it more then this one. As to what the next RTD will be... I don't know, I've been working on one, but I'm not sure about it. Maybe it's just that I'm worried people will judge me for ending and starting another RTD so quickly and/or that my only two RTDs have been sucky in one point or another, but it's likely no one cares.

Anyway, hope to see you guys in my next RTD when it comes. ;)

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

I followed this game. While it was a bit complex, I wont fault Tarren for his creativity. It *could* of worked!

Put that on the tombstone

Didnt you say the next one was gonna be a more fantasy-esque setting? Hell, I can already make my character.

Name: Waladil
Class: Ranger/rogue/scout (Preferred in that order, depending on what's allowed)
Skills: Swords/Bows
Main weaknesses: Mid-low hp, no magic capabilities.
Strengths: High DPR, stealth and range.

Sorry, but, and remember I'm spoiling this, the next RTD will have players start out without anything. No skills, no weapons, no gods, etc. They'll have to earn everything by themselves.

I'll reserve a spot for you though.
