(OOC:Acanthus to whom were you talking?)

Yngvir observed the whole hall. Working together with another platoon? He looked around and it seemed everybody was busy.

After some thought... i don't know enough of this planet at the moment to pull my own thing. If you don't mind i will look what the others have.

Having said that Yngvir marches off. He was particularly interest in some discussion between a doctor and some other guy who looked like  he belonged to some street gang.

Gas Attack you say? Sounds quite fun. Mind if i join? My squad could give you cover with a bunch of M-166s and some Ares we requisitioned.

"Hello. I couldn't help but overhear that you need some help. I'm Captain Kowalski, and I think I can help you with what ever you need. My men are well trained, and we need to set up a base of operations in Drayton."

"Well, I spent half my childhood in the undercity so I can point you in the right direction but be careful.  We had some luck recently but it could turn south again and Drayton City is the last place you want to be then.  Three years back, they chased us out of the undercity and we got mauled pretty damn bad.  Don't grow too attached to anywhere in the city."

Skye pulls out an ancient subway map and points to one of the stations.  "The slums below Broken Downs are one of the safest places right now.  Hole up in there and you should have the best chance of seeing them before they come.  I could have one of my people show you the way there if you want.  But you aren't gonna share a hideout with us.  We aren't comfortable with that."

Dr. Watts nods his head to Skye, remember the last gas attack. He stopped to consider the proposal but shook his head. "I'm not a poisoner. Nothing lethal. I have some strong tear gas, but that's it. Try to be careful about it. We don't have the hospital set up, so anyone who gets hit will have a long wait until I can help them."

Skye frowned at the Doctors reply.  Tear gas wasn't what she was hoping for.  "Alright doc, I guess it will have to do.  Give us the gas and we can hide it in some old medicine bottles we got and have one of your people slip it in with the supplies."

Skye paused for a moment while she pondered the man's offer, staring him down.  "I'm not sure if this is your kinda show, mercenary.  I'm looking for medicine, not a fight.  We are just grabbing the stuff, swapping it for the decoys and running to the rendezvous before going to ground.  If you aren't willing to cut and run, you'll just draw more of them and the plan won't work."

Yngvir stared back at the Scout.

Are you implying that my men aren't disciplined enough to follow simple orders? Anyways if you're not comfortable with my me covering your backs how about that: while you attack that convoi my mercs could cause some distraction.

The Mercenary Lieutenant was thoughfully patting on some petrol bombs attached to his belt.

Nothing makes people run faster than when their buildings are on fire. We would go as near as possible to the Starport and lay a fire to neighbouring buildings while they are fighting it you could pull off your decoy thing...

Skye was caught by surprise by the man's bold promise.  "That's... a gutsy plan.  If you think you can pull it off, I'm not gonna try to stop you."

OK then that's sealed. I lay fire to distract the military at the Star port so that you can raid the convoi without being attacked by more than the convoi guards.

Yngvi marches again over to the Colonel

Sorry sir to distract you again but what intel we have about the buildings surrounding the airport? Is it possible to lay fire to the surrounding buildings or do we have to await heavy attacks?

@ RandomNumberGenerator – Feel free to post up an application. The more the merrier I say!

@Anus of Discontent – Yes, you're correct! Everyone has posted at least some RP... except Archangel I believe, but not everyone has finalized their actions. I'll give some more time for everyone to chat and get their plans finished before processing the first turn.
---------------------------------------------

As the Colonel finished speaking with the merc, another platoon leader stepped up, Anya. The Colonel hid a frown and nodded, returning with a crisp salute of his own. He couldn't help but associate her past with the USE, but she was a capable fighter and a good leader. If the DRFF were ever going to be taken seriously, Ravere would need every experienced soldier willing to fight that he could get.

“A forward base in Drayton?” He nodded his head in agreement, “Sounds like a good idea, feel free to take what you need in the Armoury. I'd suggest taking some AT Launchers as well though, in case you run into a USE patrol. 166ers wouldn't hurt either, they work better for quick raids than the Ares. We don't have a lot of cash reserves, but I'll see what I can spare for you. It will be hard to find you at first, but if you cause enough trouble...” He paused to offer a wry smile, laugh lines forming on the edges of his skin around his eyes “and I have a feeling like you will. They won't stop looking, so don't get too attached.”

The Colonel, looked over to see Yngvi return and nodded,

“I imagine you mean the Star Port buildings on the outskirts themselves correct? I'll be quite frank, the Star Port is most likely one of the most heavily fortified positions the USE controls. It's their main lifeline off-world. They were clever enough to build the Star Port away from the ruins of Drayton. If you're just planning on distracting them for a short time, I wouldn't see any danger, but any prolonged assault would bring down a large Star Army response. Keep in mind that they have access to VTOLs. I see you've requisitioned a good set of equipment so that should keep the majority of your men safe. But I'm not sure how much actual damage we'd do to their fortified building without something heavier.”

Yngvi couldn't shook off the feeling that the colonel liked to disincourage people...

Ok...hmm...what is about attacking patrols, not directly at the Star Port but in the nearer vicinity to it, which will surely attract some soldiers from the star port, without calling help from orbital troops and give Skye a chance to raid the med convoi without too much attention from the guards at the Star Port...

@ Ghazkull - Not discouragement - Just trying to make sure you don't get half your platoon blown away! The Star Port has some nasty toys protecting it!  :)

---------------------------

The Colonel nodded and smiled, his lips tugging upwards, "Yes... an ambush on a medical convoy would more than likely draw the attention of some sort of rapid-action response patrol. They probably wouldn't even expect a second ambush coordinated by another platoon. I imagine you coul take them all out with minimal casualties if you set up in advance. And you'd give Skye more time to get away with as many meds as possible."

OK then if i'm allowed i will set up my ambush(and besides how many men need to operate an M166 and an Ares? i used 1 for the M166 and two for the Ares):

Yngvi nodded in agreement and told Skye and the doctor about his plan. Several hours later the platoon had reached a suitable spot. Some burnt out buildings made up the cover and burnt -out cars could be used  perfectly by the USE patrol as cover from the attacks from the buildings. With the strength of the whole team the cars were moved into a position were they would give a formidable cover for the USE patrol if they hadn't been prepared with several petrol bombs. On both sides of the buildings the M166s and the Ares were set up on the second floors and hidden beyond rubble and debris. Additional 4 soldiers guarded the stairwells, while each entrance is rigged with another 2 petrol bombs.

At the entrances of the H-Shaped block small heaps of debris were moved and beyond these petrol bombs were set to kill fleeing soldiers. It has taken several hours but now the troop was ready and the stage set. Only the actors missed...

Rundown of the Rubble Rat's plan:

Today:
1) slip the gas into the medical supplies
2) set up rendezvous point for the show
3) hide dummy medicine bags in a dumpster along the medicine convoy route

Tomorrow:
1) Gas goes off in convoy
2) Rats hit convoy, moving quickly to move the medicine off the streets and immediately disengaging at first sign of reinforcements
3) Medicine swapped for dummy medicine bags and hidden in dumpsters off the streets
4) Dummy medicine couriers run for rendevous point at an apartment building in the abandoned districts
5) After dummy bags are removed, the medicine is rebagged and quietly carried away
6) Arriving at rendevous point, the fireworks go off and one minute of pitched gunfight with any chasing USE personal
7) the Rats escape by the sewer system towards the undercity hideout
8) timed explosives take out the buildings structural supports, causing it to collapse over the escape route

Okay!

It looks like everyone has more or less posted what they are going to be doing for the turn, save Archangel, so I'll try to get a turn up for tonight!

@ Mainiac - The gas grenades you're placing, are you sneaking someone inside a warehouse to hide the gas inside the medical supplies?

@ Acanthus - Is your action setting up a base inside Drayton? Or did you have more to post before the turn finished?

I was planning on having one of the doctors people give the grenades to the USE, along with the medical supplies they are taking from the populace.

Yeah, that's my action. A base in the place that Skye told me about. :D

Who, me? I'm going to be down in Falstaff. And I'm not taking supplies from the populace; I was hoping that we'd be able to raid the USE for them.
