Will do, soon as I get some rope made.

Surprisingly, Grunk, the cow and the cat have all regained consciousness. I'm still isolating them to see if there's some delayed effects, like necrosis of the brain.

Ahahaha, I already see the image in which fainting Grunk, the cow and the cat are the only inhabitants of Deepspark!

This is MADNESS!

This is HILLARIOUS! *back-kick*

I hereby request a dwarf! Someone not food/farm related. Metal/stoneworker would be ideal. Name: Haspen of course.

Well Uja is dead, but it took four dwarves with him. And the refugees have begun fighting among themselves, Grunk is melancholy, and the camp is in chaos.

Haspen: I'll give you one of the dwarves from the proper fortress.

EDIT: Oh god. There's a family of four. Three of them were bitten by the beast, and dying. The fourth is just a baby. I hate this game sometimes.

The announcements look pretty much like this for several pages.

Yup. The refugees are going insane, killing each other and dying of thirst. Topside, new migrants are being trampled by elephants.
Yeah this is Deepspark all right.

I am walling the fortress up tight. No way am I letting something like that in here.

I would like to get a dwarf named after me. Call him Lehmusjoki.

So we got monsters above, monsters below, dwarves in the middle and a party in the dining hall. Sounds good to me.
If all else fails, remember one thing:  kittens are delicious, nutritious little goblin-baiters, cavern explorers, and ambush-finders.

DS: Still the three.

Oglokoog: Yes, but you're melancholy. It won't be long now. Sorry.

chaos and lehmusjoki coming up. I won't give out any of the refugees until I see if any of them survive, but there's plenty of beardy mudkips wandering the halls. You can have some of the kids.

It is now my sad duty to inform you that Grunk has passed away.

Goodnight, sweet prince.

Ok, the psychology of the dwarves continues to elude me.

That's right, these guys are hosting a party while their friends are dropping like flies.

I'm going to pretend that's a memorial service for Grunk.

Congratulations. I wish you many children (whom will then serve in the militia).

I find the contrast between the two groups very striking, even after all this time. One group is living in elaborately decorated halls, wallowing in decadence, getting fatter by the minute, while the other group is starving to death and besieged by monsters and madness.
Makes me want to paint it.
