Don't recall ever seeing em in the old version. But hey, it ran away immediately. The newly drafted militia captain gave chase for a while, but I didn't want to run headfirst into the unexplored caverns. 'cuz that would be stupid.

You could have sacrificed a migrant to increase your field of view.

Didn't want em in here, contaminating our stuff.

...

Seth just went into a fey mood. He wants rocks, rock bars (whatever those are, maybe coke or something?), logs and get this, body parts. BODY PARTS.

This guy is like my favourite dwarf ever.

Rock bars are a bug. Body parts means bones or shell (likely shell, as a bug prevents fish from appearing in most cases).

Seth is doomed.

The wiki says rock bars are satisfied by metal bars, and I might be able to scrounge some real quick. I'll just nip to the surface to see if there's something that'll pass for body parts. As the whole map is littered with em.

Requesting my dwarf's name changed to Urist McPlaceholder, Professional Placeholder.

Also, try to make him take some dwarven body parts. Collect via cave-in if you must.

I can see it now, "These spikes menace with menacing spikes of dwarven bone,  Engraved upon the spikes are depictions of baby dwarfs getting impaled by spikes.  This relates to the fact that migraints reproduce like cats."

Hehe, so that's my third kid now? And could I be promoted to chief medical dwarf please? And don't enable surgery on anyone, I hear it's broken and my personal experience backs this. No surgery is ever actually performed, they just stand at the dwarf supposedly doing surgery until they get thirsty and then get something to drink. And the story is of course awesome so far.

DS: Yeah that's your third little tower-cap. And no, I'd like to keep the medical dwarf as someone who actually knows some medicine (bone doctor, remember?). I look forward to amusing antics involving broken surgery.

There's a bit of a problem with going outside. Not the skeletons mind you, they're conspicuously absent. No, the problem is that I don't know what part he needs, or whether any of them qualify. So I had to reclaim everything on the surface. But I don't want a mad rush to retrieve donkey leather loincloths, as tempting as those are. Thankfully, burrows offer a way out. I've created a new burrow that consists of the entire underground, and made all dwarves except Seth members. Now when I open the door, he can go outside to get what he needs while the rest stay inside.

What madness would drive a dwarf outside for some weird bits of bone? I cannot say. I expect the outside will be made greener by the trip.

There's a little hitch though. The parts are gathered in order, and before the body parts there's the "rock bar". And I'm having some difficulty setting up a temporary smelter, caused by:

I'm glad some things haven't changed.

"Body parts" translates to ANY bone or shell. No "what part do you need?" involved.

Also, does your embark site have a large "cliff" anywhere? Because if it does, there's a chance (bug) that you may encounter lag and fun and awesome and spoilers.
