I have never seen an advice thread go for so long without a single piece of good advice (besides mine
That's, uh, a little suspicious, isn't it?
I mean, gosh, I could say the same thing. Clearly self-immolation
is the answer.
And there seems to be a lot of good advice here, anyway. A lot that seems good to me, in any case; I don't know which would actually be the best in this situation, but still, saying "everyone gives bad advice but me" smacks of bias. Heck, many people told the OP to do the same thing you suggested. Do you suppose that because you say something, it is right, while when other people say the same thing, it is somehow wrong?
Maybe you should all try and let the girl decide?
I can fully assure you, this is a terrible way of approaching the problem. Shes not some prize to be won--assuming that she'd even say yes to the one who asked her. This is a really classic recipe for trouble; I'd steer clear of her were I one of you, and hell, If I was her I'd steer clear of the weird triangle this could become.
Just bite the bullet and ask her or something.
(Essentially the same as what Jude said)
So yeah, if me and my friends were in that situation, we'd all try to get with her, but once someone succeeds the other guys would drop it.
(Essentially the same as what Jude said)
Goddamn. Just ask the girl out. Your friend does what ever he wants to. If she accepts to go out with you, you'll see if she's really worth of it. If she's not, you're more than happy to let your friend have a change. If she is, do what you got to do. It's that easy, really.

Play some Dwarf Fortress.
ignore Armok's advice.
EDIT: Wait why do I post here so much
I should go get a life, I heard they're on sale
