So do we have any confirmations? This is happening, right? Who's playing, where, and what are we being? Can the DM confirm any of that?

Sorry was at work. Yeah pretty much anything on the srd will be fine. Yeah there is deffinatly enough interest. Yes Psionics are fine. I personally love psionics. Though I'm not a fan psychic warrior.

I think we've got enough players from just here.

We'll be doing it over IRC, thoguth we need to work out a time. I'll just start up a couple new chan's.

if you guys have any room left I'd love to get in on this (assuming I can make any of the times).

I'd like to take a break from DMing and make a wacky adventurer for once.

you type instead of talking and when the dm asks for a roll you do a /roll 20 or something... i havent used irc in a long time.  There are also apps you can use for maps/battlefields etc.

Give me a shout if there's an opening. I'm an experienced player, and always wanted to play a dwarf.

I'm on US Central time.  Non-saturdays non-standard work hours preferred, but I can be flexible. (more flexible regarding work hours than saturdays, actually...)

That's actually fairly close to what I have, except I'm available on Saturdays right now.  Not that it matters since it conflicts with your schedule.  On days where I end up playing with my friends, I get home around 4:30-5:00 and since I never know when that will be more than a few days in advance, it's better to just assume that's when I'm available.

I decided to play a rogue I think, and I've started working on a character sheet.  The 28 points is what we get at level 1 right?  I couldn't find a list, but I assume we get 1 ability point by the time we're 3, so I adjusted for that a little, but I can take it out.  Does anybody have a site listing what you get as you level or know where that is on SRD?  Or even just how many feats we'd have by level 3?

You get a stat point at level 4.

You get your first feat at level 1, and your second at level 3.

Watch out for the DM throwing you a curve-ball, especially if he's new. In my experience, some DMs tend to overestimate what players can take.

I find it just the opposite while I dm: all of my encounters are rated from medium to "why the hell would you do that to your players" with most being at least hard. in an adventure with minimal magic and items with slightly poor medium level characters.

Levers should actually do something, even if it's random.  And something that could actually be useful too.  I'm not sure dwarves would build levers to drop lava on themselves without divine intervention.  It would be more like flooding a chamber with lava to work a forge.  If there just happens to be a lever that controls the floodgate to that room keeping the magma in, and somebody accidentally opened it while it was full, that could cause death.

I like the idea of an intelligent, trap disarming, rogue too.  Especially with the fondness most people have for traps, even if I don't use them much myself.
The simplest way of achieving that would seem to be using an existing fortress. Headshoots, perhaps?

Never used Dwarf Therapist, mods or tilesets in all the years I've been playing.
I think Toady's confusing interface better simulates the experience of a bunch of disorganised drunken dwarves running a fort.

Guys: www.d20SRD.org is your friend.

Now, I just need an elfy name.

Edit:
Genoraven: I was avoiding full psionicist in part because it feels like wizard/cleric/druid territory to me.  And also because i'm envisioning a front-line combatant who happens to have some 'spiritual' (psionic) affinities.  If it makes you happier, I can probably massage a full psionicist into doing what I need.

Optimizing for the totally implausible, ah, my favorite.  Mmm... round peg, square hole.

Since I seem to be the only announced elf, I suppose I'll choose the elfen subrace which best matches my interpretation of DF elves.

Anyway, backstory almost finished, then its time to figure out stats.

By the published standards, as a DM most of what i throw at my characters rank somewhere at or beyond "why the hell would you do that to your players?"  But they've never let me down yet, and often make me feel like I should find the kid gloves I'm wearing and take them off.

Might I suggest pulling a Tucker's Kobolds?
