Yeah, the problem with curiousbeast_guzzlers is that they drain entire barrels instantly - and can move on to the next barrel within frames to do the same. Leave them in a stockpile, and no matter the size it'll be gone really quickly.

That being said, the fact that the elves brought a bear that drank all their own alcohol is amazing.

Yep,
I usually have the same problem with dark gnomes.
They come (but in hordes of 5-9) and each time one of them gets near my booze supplies,
another barrel full of boozes wanders into his stomach.
In one of my first fortresses they drank the whole initial  booze stockpile (around 80 units) within seconds, forcing my dwarves to live the whole sommer and autumn with just water to drink (that is, after they had spend 2 months hunting down  the darkgnomes, killing 6 and getting the other 3 to flee)

Giant moles do this too. One drank my entire booze stockpile (200+ drinks) after it escaped from an underground cavern.  :-\
That mole must be hunt down and cooked.

Looks like the dwarves are going to have start using vaults for that most precious of resources...booze.

With [SLOW_LEARNER], dwarves probably don't sit around and talk anymore. They just stand in the same corner altogether, staring at each other, sticking their bearded lips out trying to make sounds. And giggling when someone actually says a whole word.

I had a polar bear eviscerate one of my precious cows, then proceed to rip the left arm off a huscarl I sent after him. Count yourselves lucky.

Also, has anyone considered using booze and cage traps?

I should probably have my head checked, because I find myself in complete agreement with Nikov.

Somebody needs to see what happens if you add that tag to other creatures.

A  fire imp has guzzled some *Dwarven Ale* [25]
Urist McForger has been shredded in a massive explosion!
A dog has been shredded in a massive explosion!

True, but at a certain velocity the resulting explosion expels invader-bits at fatal speeds. You don't want to be dropping trogdolyte-shaped shrapnel bombs into your boneworks.
Only in Dwarf Fortress...

Ideally, this would be the case anyway.

No dwarf would ever complain of being stationed outside the Beer Vault.

I could see the problems arisen by this.

Are you kidding? Every dwarf would complain that they aren't stationed INSIDE the Beer Vault

You're looking at this wrong - it's not a problem, it's an opportunity!

Why, just train them as a war bear, tie a length of -Pig Tail Rope- to it's tail, set it alight, and send the bear to attack/visit someone you don't like.

Say goodbye to the Goblin Siege, hello to Goblin Memorial Crater Lake.
