This page? I'm calling it now, Kat's parents die. What Anja is talking about is their time is literally running out for whatever reason. That's why they didn't and won't react to Tony's shenanigans.

So they die.

Then, Tony kills the headmaster and ascends to the throne.

He cuts all contacts with the other side of the bridge. He expels Jonnes. He ups the ether experiments. Starts producing war-type robots, gearing up for inevitable subjugation of the forest.

Antimony is brainwashed by him, follows his every command like a good puppy.

Kat, enraged with grief, Englamore, pissed off by everything, Robot and Shadow being just overall badass organize a violent uprising, tearing the court from inside.

The rest 50 or so chapters are spent in progressively more grimdark environment, with ether-space leaking monstrosities all over and where everyone we met up till now get slowly killed off in many different brutal ways. On the final page, Tony, mad with power, activates un-tested ether weapon which in turn creates unstable real-space vortex which destroys the Earth.

The end.

On bonus page, Zimmy, which was pressumed dead after a failed ether-catalyst experiment, is shown as a goddess of all-consuming madness and destruction, presiding over both real-and-ether space.

I think Kat's parents were just talking about how they got up to important shenanigans and drama when they were kids, and now it's the next generation's turn. I still see that turning into a conflict with Tony, given they've let go of the past and let the girls be independent. I'm willing to bet Tony hasn't let go of anything, and he's still trying to lash out at the Forest or whoever he blames for Surma's death and has overturned the kids' lives by taking control of Annie. He's pretty much the Donlans' total opposite at this point.

Ouh, that's a good point. Yes, Tony seems to be stuck in the past to a ridiculous degree.
Also, the current page just reminds me of this.

He can't control Renny? Yeah, he'd be dead if that was true. Most likely Annie left Renard on purpose with some Asimovish rules Old Man Carver can't overwrite. Which means she is not completely under his sickening parental thrall.
What did he demand from Renard, though? What is his stake? Does he work with the Court, or is he strictly using them?
I'm looking forwards to the Dolans trying to get through to the person under the towering layers of stonecold asshole, although they will fail.

Baseless theory: Renards isn't even in the doll anymore. Old Carver is having long, one-sided conversations with an inanimate object, believing its silence a sign of spite and supernatural resolve. Which happens to him quite often actually.

He actually generated less than 0.1 Boxbots of terrible on this particular page. Unfortunately, lingering terribleness is going to probably keep ambient levels well above that for most of the comic's remaining runtime.
