I don't know if that will work... Since there are no editiable CHARCOAL or COKE.

But this does not mean I do not support the act of !!SCIENCE!!

I don't believe that it is sadly, since BAR:NO_SUBTYPE:COAL:(must be CHARCOAL or COKE here) needs one of those two as a subtype.

I used a reaction to turn oil into coke, but otherwise, I don't think so.

You can however make your own raw material, which then will then will be turned into coke or charcoal.

For example a plant that you can grow on farms, and that is brought to a workshop, and the endresult is a bar of coke.

well after some tries i mistakely typed this:

the results were 3 units of "coke" and 1 unit of  "refined coal", at first i thought that refined fuel was a broken item but instead , my dwarves correctly stockpiled it and used it as fuel...

Now I am curious what if you made it not COAL:COAL but COAL:OIL? would it produce refined Oil?

Well, I know refined coal as a generic item has been around for a while. It's all over the place in LFR, for instance, to be made from Lustrum.

Change [CONTAINS:A] to [CONTAINS:drink].

The reagent identifiers you use are slightly unorthodox, but they should work. However, you have to make sure all the pointers point in the right direction. CONTAINS:X refers to a reagent identifier, and you identified your first reagent--which would normally be "A"--as "drink".
