I've been playing more or less regularly, I am travelling right now so won't get online until Sunday or so. My main char right now is Rimuk McDwarf and I plan on deleting the old, crippled ones soon. Even with its repetitiveness I find the game fun, specially with buddies, also the best quests seem to be the ones you can buy, that makes it better to play.

I'm still on a bit. If anyone needs help, give a holler.

And apparently I was wrong. It is truly amazing how many things suddenly are urgent and need done right now when parents realize that no you are not spending all that time on school work but happen to just be goofing off.

SIGH, everything that could be put off now suddenly needs doing so maybe in a couple weeks I will be able steal some time to play.

Well, from the Guild last online time, it seems I'm the only active player... so maybe I'll go find another guild.
Anyway, it was fun y'all, but it's hard to quest alone :)

Hmm. Well, I just tried to log on but it said my account didn't exist, so presumably it was deleted for inactivity.

Guess it has been a while.

Rolling up a dwarven Cleric. Cerol Likotag at your service.

Hmm I've been curious about this game for some time now.

So how many people from bay12 are actively playing this?

And what about the gameplay?
How is the combat/story/crafting and so on?
What type of dwarf is needed for your group?

And more important is it still based on microtransactions, which you have to use if you don't want to be stuck on low-level-content?

I've been reading some guides.

Yes there are microtransactions, but it is possible to unlock everything without them.

Combat is very simple compared to actual D&D combat, story is good, and crafting is a bit odd. Some parts are like gambling, others ingredient lists from I can tell.

I've got a dwarven cleric.

There were 10-15 of us for a while, but people started dropping off. When I stopped it was down to about 3 people and I was only logging in once a week.

And what about the gameplay?

It's adequete. Similar to neverwinter nights, but with a first person view. The mouse control is a little strange, but it's playable. Mostly you do instanced quests over and over, but there are a couple of non-persistent "wilderness" areas.

I left with the feeling that it was a single player game you could have some friends in. It doesn't feel like a MMORPG.

How is the combat

It's very simple. Lots of clicking, and there isn't a lot of fine control. You just kind of wade in and click a bunch and hope for the best. Abilities all have huge cooldowns, and you won't use them very often unless you're a melee type in which case you basically just press the same one or two keys every 5-10 seconds.

There's no real tanking/dps/healing dynamic. Role variety is largely optional, at least for everything I saw up to level 6 (out of 20.)

/story/

Unmemorable.

crafting

Allegedly there is a crafting system. I never saw it myself, but from what I gather it mostly involved finding random drops during quests and then doing quests to turn those random drops into items.

There is some buyable content, but it's relatively minor. The game is totally playable without paying for anything.

Too bad :/
I don't want to be stuck in another dead MMO...
